NXPlay - Multimedia player for Nintendo Switch!

Briefly: this app won't be updated anymore.
Why? as I'm working on a multipurpose tool (NSPower), I've decided to add audio (And video soon) playback directly as another option of NSPower. sys-play will continue, of course, as I plan to add many stuff. Anyway, first I want to release NSPower and finish some stuff with Brew.js, plus other ideas i plan to work on.
Anyway don't worry, as this project is not dead!

Hi, here's another project I'm working right now. As SDL2 supports audio playback, I did this player with a nice UI.
It supports MP3, WAV, OGG, MOD and FLAC audios.
Video support will be available soon, as I'm porting ffmpeg libs.

Current release: 0.1, first release
Place audios under "sdmc:/switch/nxplay" and enjoy!

Wow.. I need to have this right now! Some exciting stuff right here. Look forward to playing around with it later. Thank you! kudos!

This looks amazing, I'm really excited and I hope it works out well!

That being said, I could be wrong, but I sincerely doubt video playback is going to work until a GL/Vulkan library comes out for Switch.

But I really do hope you're successful, I want to play videos on Switch sooo badly! Seems like it would be great for the kids for long road trips, but of course the only current video playback solution involves a Hulu subscription!

Plays/works beautifully so far. Just wondering about a work around for more than 14+ songs showing up on player page. The remaining songs get clipped off screen and cant be seen. Tried splitting folders up (eg. nxplay_1 ,nxplay_2) but to no avail. Is there a better solution to this atm? If not its ok not sweating it... just curious.

You might want to try using NX-Shell until NXPlay is a little more developed:

I'd like to make the suggestion to keep multimedia files out of the switch folder. Videos should go in sd:\\Videos & music should go in sd:\\Music .

This would keep things much cleaner, for both devs and users.

Or even make it user-set-able.

Other than that, very nice!

Hi @XorTroll would it be eventually possible to play your own custom music while u play games on the switch? I believe this to be a great feature, though I lack the knowledge to implement it myself :/. (The psp had that functionality cfw'd). (wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?t=37713 showing that it was possible on psp).

Most likely not, there are a limit to what homebrew can do with. You'd need to have something like NTR or the FTP server that can run at the same time as Horizon OS.
