Looks like Nividia's Grid PC game streaming will be available for Ouya! From what I can gather, you have to have a"Grid Approved" Nvidia card (in your PC) for this to work with Ouya, Shield and any other Grid enabled Android device.

WELP! Looks like Nvidia might as well give up on Shield. Why bother buying that thing when you can use Grid on a device that's roughly 1/3 the price of Nvidia's device.

I might actually consider getting a Ouya just for that, it would be nice to play my PC games on my big screen in the living room :)

You know you totally can get a DVI converter if your graphics card doesn't support HDMI, right?

And a 30 meter cable extension to my downstairs TV? Aswell as extension cables for all my peripherals?

It would be far more convenient just spending the $99 and streaming it over my pre-existing gigabit network ;)

Interesting, but we'll see how this will start working. As the guy said, latency is a problem in one way or the other. Hopefully they get this up and running..

Ah well I did not know your setup, in my house my PC is next to the TV so I could do it

And that's the most portable solution compared to Shield? Nope.

Shield? Portable? LMFAO!!!! The Old Skool DS is more portable than that. Shield is a controller slapped onto a five inch screen. Frankly Nvidia needs to go back to the drawing board and come out with a new design.

Android OS, bruh! -Some things called a DualShock 3 and a XBox 360 wired controller. Still cheaper than Shield

Oh yeah, all you need to do is use some duct tape to attach the controller and there you go! Portable console!

Lighty, please... Some people want to play their games in a comfortable fashion and are willing to pay for it. ;)

The thing MIGHT be comfortable due to the controller half but it's definitely NOT portable! Look at it. It's a friggin monster. They should have just copy/paste the Wii U Gamepad design and called it a day.

Have you actually seen a Shield IRL? The thing isn't even big, plus you can actually fold it. It doesn't have the controller sticking out, so it is a lot more portable than pretty much any Android device + a PS360 controller. Like it or not, that's a fact.

Even better!!! Well, for me but that puts me in the place of having to decide on whether to continue my cloud collection through Onlive or Nvidia. I already have 18 titles invested in OnLive.

Please enjoy not gaming when your Internet is down. :D

EDIT: I like how "Always Online" is a terrible concept but "streaming to the OUYA" is a godsent.
EDIT2: "Amazing Gaming. Anywhere.*"

*requires fast-speed broadband connection, you will only be able to play at home.

And then you can buy or if you already have a personal cloud. Ouya pretty cool when it comes to streaming, I'll give it that. I rather get the Ouya if I'm pretty much tied to online and no used games. :P

Um.... It's very rare that my connection goes down and also, I work for the largest ISP in the world as a technician, I think I'll be OK in regards to cloud gaming. Finally, I only use Cloud gaming to supplement my digital collection. I just see it as paying someone to house my games on their PC until I can get a gaming quality one of my own. Which doing that is last on my to do list. I have a huge backlog that I need to finish.

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

never had that i don't think

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
