Yes, if you give magic koopa a mushroom, theres change of get a mistery mushroom
I'm just making a wild guess here, but. I have a feeling that the tileset for mystery mushrooms isn't in the game, which is why mario reverts back to his small form instead of a pile of glitched sprites.

EDIT: I know that there aren't any tilesets for costume mario in the game.

But, i can Crouch and break blocks, also, why is the mistery mushroom? It is suposed to be deleted for Mario Maker 3DS.

Also, i got this

This shows that it was a rushed/lazy port of the game. Instead of removing the feature, they just made it nearly impossible to get it under normal means. If we can figure out the name for the default costume mario tileset, then we can change how he looks when he gets a mystery mushroom.

Yeah, but something bad about this is that we are only going to be able to make 1 costume.
Maybe in a future, we will be able to make a randomizer for the costume

I was thinking about doing that but I thought it would look silly to have 8-bit sprites with 16-bit backgrounds and tiles
The sprites are stored as models, and you can edit the textures of them after extracting the szs file.
I did this to fix SMW flying jump mario's missing foot (I can't believe nintendo missed that AGAIN)

I do know I've already made a mod it's called Super Luigi Maker

and yes for some reason there's a SMW bowser in these sprites and I don't know why.

I think it's just the same as regular small Mario. Regular small Mario does have an otherwise unused ducking sprite.

I'd love a hack that adds Mystery Mushroom back into the editor with a custom costume selection screen.

For now it would be better to have only the mistery mushroom, this can be possible because there is aplace in the objects bar that is unused, we can use it to add it

Well I'm trying to do what is done in the video and yet koopa only gets bigger, doesn't shoot mushrooms. I'm on o3ds too but I'm sure that doesn't matter.

Edit:
Got it work.
Weird thing is after you collect the mystery mushroom and get hit you lose the mushroom even though you are little and collecting a weird mushroom or a regular mushroom doesn't do anything. So the must think you have something on.
Too bad there wasn't a way to limit magic koopa so it couldn't teleport as it would be a easy way to take advantage of this.
