I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to flash cards, I was told to buy one by a friend and I did from a website, and this was a long time ago.

I don't have my DS anymore, however I have a 3DS and I was wondering if I could get it to work again (mainly to save me switching cards when I play different games).

The information that I have about the card is as follows:
  1. It's grey with a sticker stating "R4 Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS)
  2. It came with a 2 Gig Micro SD card
  3. There's no spring loaded method to get the SD card in.
  4. I believe this is the website for it: http://www.r4ds.me/
I'm guessing it's a clone and that it will not work on the 3DS but I wanted to make sure before I did anything... as I mentioned I don't have a DS to test on.

Thanks for any help/advice, I spent a good portion of an hour reading through different threads on this website.

Nope. You'll never get it to work on a 3ds.

it sounds like it might be a 1:1 r4 clone. they work great with the wood firmware on a dslite/ds phat. there is no way you can get it working on the 3ds due to a lack of hardware. its worth about $2-6 if you decide to sell it. you could put that money towards an r4i gold.cn which also runs wood and will work on the 3ds.

If you're curious on the technical reasons it won't run, this page has a great explanation of the difference between how DS flash carts and flash carts that work on the DSi and 3DS act.

Here's the list of suggested flash carts.

Thanks for the info folks. The article on the technical reasons was a pretty good read actually.

Another world, do you mean r4i gold released by www.r4ids.cn? It's not r4igold.cn,which is another card.

no, sorry if it was confusing. the community calls the r4i gold made by www.r4ids.cn the "r4i gold.cn". i'm not sure how it happened but its what we all call it. so i was referring to the card that has "www.r4ids.cn" on the sticker.
