Hacking Not sure if partial downgrade or CFWs hate me

Hi all.

First Disclaimer. I have spent months reading the various threads on these forums before I even bought my 3ds and now I'm totally out of ideas.

I bought a 9.9 EU N3ds and downgraded to 9.2 no issues or so I thought. I tried to use the plailect guide to get Luma running but I hit a snag when it came to Emunand9. All the guides say it might take a few tries but it has been hundreds of times and it has only ever taken me back to HBL.

Yet I cannot get pasta to start. I have tried the most recent beta, minipasta and 1.2.1. I tried Emunand. It's still giving me the same issues. Anyone want to give me pointers? It crossed my mind that maybe I have a partial downgrade. I used the checker and all the files are different to what they should be but it seems common with the EU firmware anyway. Now I really don't know what to do. I don't think it seems wise to go ahead with anything if I cant get Emunand to start. Ideas?

I would suggest using a tool to check if you have a frankenfirmware

I can only find guides to get out of frankenfirmware, nothing to give me the list of symptoms. I can no longer play xenoblade chronicles. Which suggests a full downgrade... right?!?

So it seems to be a partial upgrade, should be all good just to try downgrading again through sysupdater?

@Lattersam Your native_firm is not 9.2, so yes, you should definitely run the downgrader again.

When you downgrade from 9.9 you need to perform it twice.

Because first attemp it will get a error and seems to be downgrade but didnt.

So you do it again and its will complete successful

yup all appears to have been successful this time. Ran the downgrade checker. Still I get nothing but blackscreen from Emunand though?! Is this some kind of browserhax issue?

If you're not afraid to go the A9LH route, follow Plailect's A9LH Guide, and start over again, but this time everything should go well.

I have a feeling your issues might just be stemming from something as simple as incorrect setup? Lets start with this. N3DS, currently downgraded to 9.2 correct? Have you even so far as seen a LUMA config screen? If you dont mind, can you post your current SD card root (or PM it at least?). We can help you get to the bottom of this I am hoping.

Believe the issue was he tried setting up with a partial downgrade. Re-doing everything fresh, with the N3DS now properly downgraded, all should be good. I really wouldn't really try to diagnose a setup that was attempted with a partial downgrade.

I'm following the plailect steps to the letter. Emunand worked first time from menuhax. Many thanks for the help but I think this could be the ball rolling after all these hours of thinking it was going nowhere.

Just being proactive in case he was still having issues not a big deal.
