Ok,

I'm a total noob at console modding, as this would be my first mod. According to WiiTracker, my Wii has a GC2-D2B, and my drive pins are most likely cut. What does this mean? Will this affect the WiiKey installation at all?

Thanks for your help!

It means 3 of the pins on the IC will be cut and you'll either have to solder directly to little stumps or rebuild the legs then solder in normal places.

if you buy awg30 wire you can solder to the exposed nubs and so rebuild the legs.

now install wiikey as usual and it will work fine.

How do I do that?? I'm a noob, remember, and I've done barely any soldering before...

If you're s noob, there is no chance that you'll be able to rebuild the legs, I'd have someone with more experence install the mod if I where you.

edit: yeah like dOOfus said

get a professional to install the wiikey you need experience when soldering in a wiikey and its even worse when you have to do the cut leg one. It will save you money to pay a installer to install it as you will most likely botch the install.
