I use:

Geckos 1.07b (my 1.9.2 is not working)
firmware 4.2u
cIOS 38 rev 14

Problem:

I'm a real noob... so after I installed cIOS 38 rev 14 for playing Wii Resort (it didn't work), SSBB stopped loading on Gecko... i tried to upgrade the firmware to 4.2u (i've already said i'm a noob ^^) and it's not working yet. When i try loading the game, the screen remains on "Loading Game/Lang: ..." and it doesn't load... please, help! i love this game and i really wanna play it!

as far as i remember and if i'm not mistaken, cios249 rev 14 doesn't support dual layer disc like SSBB. way to load this is to reinstall cios249 rev 13a/b and below.

Thanks for trying to help, but i'm still getting some troubles:
- my SSBB is one-layer
- i'm trying to downgrade the cIOS, but i'm not being able to do it - first i got the 2017 error (do i have to uninstall the previous IOS?) and i don't know which cIOS i should install... cios249 rev 13a works fine for SSBB?

Edit: I tried to downgrade my IOS with the IOS downgrader, but it didn't work :S

i don't know how to use it... maybe a tutorial would help ^^

I recently got the Need for speed Undercover backup and it was palying fine but then until some point when the road started disappearing. tought I should burn the Disc slower using the Imgburn but got this message

how can I fix this so it will burn it slower and I won;t have problems on the game? help please

Yeah, I don't see the point of installing DVDx on my HomeBrew Channel if I already have it. Unless the one given out by the HackMii installer is the correct one to use.

The whole point of my post was to ask why my DVDx installer wasn't working. Methinks you may have skimmed when you should have read.

Then again, I'm new here, so I don't know when I'm being taken seriously or when someone joke posts me. :/

Eh, I'll try the HackMii Installer version of DVDx to see if there's any difference....

...I think. I don't really know what version I should install. I installed the last one but it doesn't work...

Edit: I tried pressing X in mios patcher and... uh, now it's working *_*

i have a 3.2U wii... korean converted to US...

i just wanna ask if

1. is it safe to assume that all tutorials that say "this only works for USA and Eur Wiis, not Jap or Kor" will work for me? although recently, i think all of them are now saying "this works for ALL Wiis", but i'm just curious in case i run into it again..

2. there's a way to know if it's softmod or hardmodded without opening it up? it was a gift but the one who gave it to me doesn't know anything about wiis (she just bought the cheapest)

3. may it be softmod or hardmod, even if i don't know, is it safe and necessary to upgrade to 4.1U? or even 4.2? ... i just feel weird that a lot are now upgrading to new versions, and be able to play backups and use backup loaders, and both my wii and psp are left behind on old versions....

it plays all my pirated games.. but not all backups (tried experimenting at any speed... i only use verbatim.. to no avail..) and games work on USB loader cfg40, so far... and.. yea, i'm so a noob that i don't even know what version of HBC it has, do i need a new one?..... and, i was also successful in installing and playing ocarina of time, majora's mask, internet channel, and world of goo...

read the rules my friend...no asking on where to get wad/isos for games. btw...you have a rom why not load it with snes9xgx and check also on the wii emulation discussions.

@greenarcher: if you will not play wii sports resort, you may not need to upgrade to 4.1. the 4.1 is just a fix for that game.

I'm gonna say my troubles again, but with some news:

I use:

- cIOS 38 rev 14
- FW 4.2u
- Gecko 1.07b / SoftModChip

Problem:

My SSBB is not working... people say i got to reinstall rev 13a/b, but the downgrader doesn't work (i get a black screen) and the WadManager displays an error message when i try to delete cIOS 249 (1011) or another error message (1017) when i'm trying to install the old one...

softmodchip says "Error! Can't Open Partition"

AllTitle Delete didn't work too, it displays the 1011 message when i'm trying to delete the cios...

and there's another problem: when i'm using all of these programs, i can't open then as IOS 222/223/249/250 - the wii freezes - so i hav to use 36/37/38/.../70. I don't if there's a relationship, but that's it...

I've tried both PAL and NTSC DVDs of SSBB, and i use DVD5, not DVD9.

Both PAL and NTSC worked fine with Gecko before installing "cIOS 30 rev 14", so i tried to delete it with all programs i found, but it didn't work with any...

the only thing i can do is a wii format, but there are people saying that the problem will persist...

please, HELP ME, I LOVE THIS GAME!

i really hav no ideas about what to do now... i accept any suggestion...

Hey all!

I'm trying to get the USA release of Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympics to work on my PAL Wii. I used to have an app for the homebrew Channel which loaded the game (black background menu with green text), but I accidentaly deleted the app. Does anybody know what that app (probably a loader of some kind..) is called or if there's an other app voor HC which loads the newest Wii games (the one I'm talking about also loaded Wii Sports Resort..)?

i'll play wii sports resort as soon as i get WM+... but i'll be playing it through my HDD using usb loader cfg40.... is that possible? and do i need to update to 4.1?

Nope, you need a modchip or softmod to play backups
Follow the guides in the stickies if you want softmod

You don't NEED to make a game a channel to play it. If you just want to be ABLE to play it, just get the snes emulator app, put it on your sd card properly, and put the rom on the card in the folder the emulator reads from and just load the emulator from the HBC and select the game there.

You should even be able to use the homebrew browser to download the snes emulator straight to your sd card from your wii through it's internet connection.
