Chaospker98 I have a LU504 and im trying to softmod it too. How did you install bootmii as boot2? What type of IOS did you select when you installed the WAD?

Did you use wadmanager 1.4?

To answer your first question, I was prompted to install bootmii when I was updating my Homebrew channel. I think the also prompt you to install it when you install the newest Homebrew channel.

2nd Question: If you mean the NeoGamma R5.WAD, IDK. I don't recall installing any IOS for it.

I tried to softmod my wii but every time I try the IOS35 in the wadmanager the wii stuck end get a black screen, even when I try to run the preloader 0.29 the wii stuck.
Wii serial: LEF121+
FW: 4.0E
End I have installed the HBC 1.0.3

But now I would like to get a backuploader to play backups, I followed the tutorials bij the wii stuck. Does anyone knows how to fix the black screen problem?

hello im a uncle who wants his niece plays with backup games but im really afraid i brick her wii i managed to install the homebrew channel with bannerbomb and hackmii installer beta 2 ,was a "virgin" wii in 3.3u with nothing . i couldn't install the bootmii as a boot2 so could u tell me where is a guide totally safe to install the next i need cuz i read about installing cios and other stuffs but this wii is ntsc so i download the wrong archive it would brick it without a backup copy of its nad

Installing cIOS wont brick your Wii, uninstalling official IOSes will do, you can also downgrade the Wii to 3.2 and install Preloader, it would be a little more safer than nothing, and less safer than BootMii as boot2, but at least it will save you from banner-bricks, just don't use AnyTitleDeleter (unless you really really....really know what you are deleting)...!!

Strange. You might try another cIOS (like r9). Or try WM 1.4
It can also read from a usb stick, so maybe that works...

i really apreciate ur answer ether2802.but i don know if i explain my doubt rigth,if there is any problem whether i anstall a cios for a pal wii or a ntsc console or they r totally compatible and also i read about preloaders but dont really know what they are .could you give a a guide for dummies to inform me better.

Sorry if i double post but i have another issue when i launch bootmii from the HBC i could not move in the menu i know there is a bug when u install it as a ios but the reset buttom works. the power button which is to move does nothing so if i inform correctly it shouldnt do nothing at all or is only a bug for the power button
i ask this for backing up the nand.Sorry again if i double post .

next time use the edit button

cIOS are region free so they can be installed on both PAL and NTSC without problems.
Preloader is an apps that can load before the system menu, so it can recover from bricks. There is a sticky about it.

The eject button also changes the choice in bootmii

Hello everyone, I'm a complete noob to the wii scene and just recently soft modded my wii with hackmii and bannerbomb? Using this guide. And then I installed Ciosscorp with this guide. Both went successfully but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now to play backups. Do I have to get some kind of loader and I have no idea what will brick my wii, I did use bootmii to make a backup of the nand? But I'm really confused as what I should and should not to. Also what is a IOS or CIOS?

I successfully installed the Homebrew channel on my Wii (3.4U) last night and currently in the process of getting some VC games on there. How do you play Gamecube games on there that you don't have on disk? Do you need to burn it or can you just load it somehow?

Unfortunately there is not a way to play backup GC games on the Wii yet, without a mod chip.

If you have a powerful PC with a processor that supports SSE2, you may want to look into the Dolphin emulator for your PC however, that thing is pretty cool

I recently installed IOS35, and did that whole thing so I could get some WADs on my 4.0 LU30 Wii. Now, when I put a Wii game in my Wii, the disc channel always says Wii System Update, and the only way I can play is by launching the game through Ocarina, or GeckoOS... and that gets pretty annoying tbqh. Should I update it? I have wads installed and the HBC, or should I move the WADs to an SD card and remove the HBC and repeat the process every time I want to install a wad? Is this supposed to happen, and if not, how can I fix it?

I've had my Wii hacked for a while now. I'm on 4.0u, have the homebrew channel installed and have been using the gamma launcher for a long time. Recently I discovered the USB launchers and so I decided to make a dedicated external harddrive for my Wii. I've been reading around and I've only been getting more and more confused on how to actually get started.

Basically, I want my dedicated external to be capable of playing movies off of it and playing games off of it. I generally prefer enclosures and saw that not all enclosures are supported for some reason. I currently own a Vantec Nexstar 3 which is said to have issues in playing games by the compatibility list. Will I need a new enclosure that would work flawlessly? I was planning on buying a new external hard drive anyways so it wouldn't be too much of a problem. If I do, does the hard drive inside matter as well?

So in preparing the drive, I believe I would have to make three partitions. One for the games, one for images, and one for the movies. Do all three have to be in fat 32? Or can I make the movie partition in ntfs? Also do I put the games on after reformatting the game partition to wfbs? And how would I do that? (I'm assuming that my computer would not recognize the format.

Requesting the way to install it with the least amount of hacking possible (still debating on installing cIOS at all, it's my brother's wii, and he still wants to be able to update and stuff, right now he has HBC and DVDx, and....well, that's it, he only wants mPlayer and Savegame Manager, and mPlayer is off his SD card and is running fine)

hello again im really scared about what happened to my wii i try to use wad-manager_v1.elf i add the apps folder in the root of sd and i get a black screen with alo t of number after i tried to get inside the sd chanel i ge a message error message " Wii console save memory is corrupted" so this noraml when u use that homebrew cuz the wii still works but would it be a problem in the future .

My USB LAN Adapter isn't being recognized by my Wii when I'm running a USB Loader. How Do I fix this? I'm running on 4.0u, and am able to run other .dols/.wads, and the HBC connects to the internet using my USB LAN Adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just tried Wii Sports Resort (J) on my NTSC (U) Wii, but I totally forgot to remove the update, and it updated my Wii and now I have double news and weather channels. I remember a while ago there was a double channel remover. What is the best way to remove the double channels? I am on 4.0 firmware.

hey everybody, i am completely new hack scene and need some advice as to what i should do. i recently accidentally updated my Wii (NTSC-J and i have no idea what mod chip because my dad bought in HK and the shop closed down before he went to ask...) to 4.0J. i am hoping to gecko my Wii and run other homebrew like bootmii for the recovery mode, but i have no idea where to get started. Alright I just bought a new Wii, checked the version and it's 3.4e. Ive searched the forums, but most threads mention the zelda hack. Is it possible to use bannerbomb to softmod instead? Anyone have the free time to guide me with modding? Thanks

Edit: Read that i should downgrade to 3.2, not sure why though. Can I just upgrade to 4.0 instead, any disadvantages to it? I dont have a copy of zelda with me, only wii sports/fit.

Successfully installed bannerbomb, homebrew channel, dvdx. What else should I be doing now?

I just used the Wii Channel Remover and it removed the double channels, so it's working fine now.
