I obtained a ios30-64-v1040.wad file and tried installing it in my wii, but it won't work. Every time I try, it keeps saying I have an error.

"-Installing title ()... Error! (ret = -1035)
-Removing tickets... Error! (view = 0, ret = -1017)
[*] ERROR: Could not install WAD! (ret = -1035)

"

My friend sent me a IOS51 wad a whie ago that he thought may fix the problem. Is this making the IOS30 wad not install? I think I messed up way more than I previously thought...

Yes but you need to install IOS16 first, then use the WiiPower's Wad Manager IOS Selectable, to hang from IOS16 and install the cIOS in .wad fomat, and then, if you haven't installed the r10 of the cIOS.....well use the cIOS36_r10 installer..!!

Ok so I install IOS16, I need help with this one: then use the WiiPower's Wad Manager IOS Selectable, to hang from IOS16 and install the cIOS in .wad fomat, and about the cIOS r10, I was told to use cIOSrev11 wad from the SoftMii package, so would this work, and about this cIOSrev11 is it the one in the softmii package folder called CIOS!!.wad??

Ok try installing IOS16-64-v257.wad, then use WiiPower's Wad Manager IOS Selectable (and select the IOS16 to use) and now try to install the IOS30 and the SysMenu again, and you should also search for the ios249_r7.wad to install it, so you don't have any errors anymore..!!

I think that the cIOS249_r11 is just the solution for the LU64+ users, it is not intended for normal users with no problems at all, and no it is not the cIOS11.wad it has to come in installer format (.dol), so better use r10 or wait for the r12..!!

Ok I need to clear this thing out cuz I really dont want to brick my wii. So, so far I installed HB channel without any problems so thats done (I am in 3.4U, came with the new wii). I have IOS16-64-v257.wad here. Someone told me to do this: "On 3.4, get IOS16, install it with WAD Manager, and then get a cIOSrev11 wad from the SoftMii package and install it using IOS16 as firmware. Then you can start Gamma from the HBC or install a channel for it.".

So I went to Softmii's page and got the SoftMiiv2.1.1 package which I think its the same package I was told to get. So my questions is. Where in that package do I get cIOSrev11 or where can I get cIOSrev10 for that matter. Also is it just install IOS16 then install cIOSrev11 or 10 and ready to use gamma??? Thanks for your help in advance!!

As our friendly neighborhood ether has pointed out: cIOSrev11 is for LU64+ users and SHOULD NOT BE USED by normal users. You should use cIOSrev10.

EDIT: We can't tell you where to obtain those files. Google is your friend.

Yeah that's what you want. "cIOS249" is really just cIOS36 being installed under that name fyi.

Seems fine to me, but don't hunt me down if something goes wrong!

Make sure you do your research; 3.4 is fairly lame firmware.

Ok, so I installed IOS16-64-v257.wad without problems. So I went to install cIOSrev 10 with WiiPower's Wad Manager IOS Selectable, selected IOS 16 but when I select Custom IOS36 rev 10.dol to install it, it gives me an error with [ret -1]. So anyone knows whats wrong?

In the folder I got IOS16 I also have a cIOS_fix.wad, should I install that one before installing cIOSrev10?

cIOS36_rev10.dol should be in your apps folder.
Rename the dol file to boot.dol and place it into a folder that's inside the apps folder, using the original file name as the folder name.

Like so...
/apps/cIOS36_rev10 installer/boot.dol

Then run the application from the HBC.
