2.The launcher do work with original games, the thing is the launcher is using a patched copy of IOS36, Zelda uses IOS9 to work, Mario Kart uses IOS33 (not sure) and so on and on, but they should work fine what so ever, I think that your cIOS it is not the latest, or it is not properly installed, search for the cIOS36_r10 Installer to install the latest cIOSThanks for the explanation. I have already downloaded the "backuplaunch0.3 gamma" zip pack. Do I just install cIOS in it or I should worry about uninstalling the cIOS I just did a couple of days ago?

I would really recomend that you search for the LATEST cIOS36_r10, cause the one in some Gamma .rar's is r7, it'll work, but if you want to use the USB loader, you'll need the r10

I did use "burn image to disc" with Nero, so the burn is not the problem, although it could be a random coaster. I do appreciate both answers. And it is becoming clear to me that no 2 on my list is the real problem.

Remember that if you use DVD+R you need to change the Book Type to DVD-ROM (although Nero should do it automatic), remember that good media is the one you should be using (Verbatim [MCC-00...something], Sony or Tayo Y. ), remember to write at a good speed, everyone has a different set of PC - Writter - Software - Media, but if you use once ImgBurn setted as AWS(Auto Writting Speed), you'll see the perfect speed for you (16X is the best for me using Nero6, Sony Media, external Lite-ON writter (home made) and a 1.6GHz -512RAM PC)...!!

Couple of quick N00bie Q's...

I have a Pal Wii, with CIOS36 Rev 10, and the Backup loader channel. Will this play NTSC games or do I still have to use RegionFrii?

How does the backup channel like scrubbed games?

Same question. =) I had no trouble getting my 3.3E system downgraded to 3.2E, then used the guide to get to 4.0 with HBC working. USBloader works great with a random external hard drive I had lying around (only 30g, but enough for my current needs!

). But I've been hesitant to try any NTSC games as I am almost sure they won't work. My son was given a game from the US for xmas, and he'd love to actually play it.

There are some not-official loaders around that can:

boot game with video as the game ask
boot game with video as the Wii ask
boot game with video as the Wii ask, but patched

the best according to me (who all knows

) is the configurable one by Oggzee, ohh my gosh you wouldn't believe how many features it has, as for Disc games, use the Gamma Launcher and choose your video output where it says "FORCEXXXX: YES", but still some games (a few ones actually) don't have both video output (PAL/NTSC), so you'll need a HDTV capable of both video signals to be able to reproduce that game, I have only seen 3 or 4 of this games of a collection of 70+ ...!!

Heya, been using Homebrew for a while, just figured out how to run the backups that were gathering dust on my desk and hard drive

Running 3.3E with CIOS36 Rev 10

The Wii ones I have work fine, but my Gamecube backups don't work (I'm using the loader from a channel on the main menu). When I put in a disc and start the channel, it comes up with the Gamecube Loader graphic, then it just resets the Wii. I'm using 'MultiGame ISO Creator v3.4.4F+' if that's any help.

I'm thinking I either don't have something installed or I'm on the wrong system version. Can anyone help me out here?

Maybe you haven't installed the cMIOS, as the USB/SD and DVD loaders need the cIOS36_r10, the GC launcher needs the cMIOS (custom MIOS)..!!

to what folder on the SD card are the games stored in that are put into the sd card channel? cause when i put the sd card in my wii, the wiiwares that show up are world of goo, LIT, and bomberman blast. when i insert it into the computer though, the wiiwares that appear in the [sd/mmc drive]=>G:\wad\ are bomberman blast, LIT, lostwinds, tetris party, toki tori, and world of goo. how come the wads that are shown in this folder do not appear in the sd card channel and what can i do to make it happen?

Sticking a WAD in the WAD folder of the SD doesn't make it magically appear on the Wii as a channel. You have to use WAD Manager to install them first.

what folder do these wiiware channels get stored to on the SD card though? also, to make it work, i HAVE to first install it to the wii's system using WAD manager and THEN copying it to the SD?

the folder used by the Wii is called PRIVATE, then you'll have a folder WII, then TITLES DATA and some others, but yes you first need to install them and then you have to copy them to the SD card thru the Wii Menu, the Wii doesn't read .wad files, it is just a way to pack content for have it installed...!!

I have a Wii with ModChip (D2Pro) and I want to load games from HDD (or network, if ever possible).
Unfortunately I upgraded my Wii to FW 4.0.
I tried to read as much as possible, but everything I found goes down to the Twilight hack, which is not available on 4.0.

What I don't understand is, why it is impossible to launch ISOloader (or any other HB app.) form a DVD ?

ModChip vendors are delivering update/config disks which are recognized as GC disks.
Do they know something we don't know ?

because any custom dvd needs to be signed, and system menu 4.0 has a signing bugfix, so the wii reconizes custom signed discs as invalid.
you need to wait for a new version of the twilight hack, or the bannerbomb release.

Nope. I don't think it would be possible.... Due to the loader requires some files on the SD Card. Don't quote me on that one though....

Thats great thanks, I'm just setting up the USB Loader for a friend but he doesnt have a SD Card so this should work for him. I've told him though he won't be able to use covers until he gets a SD card.

OK quick question... I have looked but havent found anything solid on this...

I have an ISO that runs great, just thet it runs in B&W it was PAL and I used Iso Patcher 1.21 to change it over to NTSC, it says it did change it, but still no color.... When it reads the Iso codes it has all of the but the Developer on has a (?) and then at the bottom it says incorect game tag (something like that)

The game is Ninjabread Man, any ideas??? I'm running it with usb loader 1.5 on a usb HDD from withtin HBC.

When you boot the game from usb loader an error pops up (dump?) and it gives you the black screen with a bunch of white font...what causes this?
I'm using 4gb usb drive to test things out and Paper Mario works fine but when I tried Boom Blox and Wii sports I get this error. They were working before when I first backed them up. Is it corrupted? Maybe a sucky usb drive?

Hi everyone. This is my first time on the board and i'm really liking how there is SOOO much information...but at last it's all really confusing with so many different versions of some application. As far as I can tell, it looks like how and what goes on their Wii is personal preference. I haven't bought a Wii yet but will probably own one before the week is over. Before that I was hoping you guys could really help me out in preparation for what to do.

The things that I am wanting are :

- Ability to play back ups on burned discs for both NTSC-U and NTSC-J games with the latest compatibility success rate so I won't have crashes in the middle of the game and whatnot.

- I'd like to have Starfall installed as well as it seems most people on here prefer it due to it's features ( Question will I need the application "Wii Brick Blocker" if I have this installed?)

- Ability to play NES, SNES, GBA and all the other old school games without dealing with game crashes etc..

- Finally I would like to be able to use the USB Loader that i've been reading so much about.

Now with all of these I would prefer the method that is the latest and greatest of each since it's really what i'm having problems with : Choosing.

Last thing, To insure I do NOT get a Wii that is unhackable by means of soft-mod, Is their a Wii Serial number information thread or something that I can look into? As far as I know I should stay away from LU64XXXXX but is that the only one? Thanks and any and all help is much appreciated.

You will not be able to install any of this untill there is a new exploit ( since your wii will probably come with the newest firmware ) But still

1. Install Cioscorp v2 with the cios60hk.wad added. You can look it up in the forums.

2. Well I say preloader is better, just add the blcok disk updates and it will block updates if thats what you are talking bout.
