Are ALL Banner Bricks recoverable as long as I have a mod chip and the Twilight Hack installed, and a autoboot TP disc?
As long as you can access the twilight hack, you can recover from banner brick by un-installing the wad that has the broken banner
(you use the twilight hack to run the wad manager)
Other options are starfalls recovery menu (Twilight princess needed) or preloader (no TP needed)
Thanks for the reply. The only way I can brick my Wii right now is by installing a corrupt wad. As long as I can be sure that the TH method will work in 100% of cases, that's good enough to me.

2) whats the most simple way to backup my wii to hard drive games from my wii, in other words backed up my wii games onto h/d using the usb loader but wan't to put those backups onto another h/d on my pc.!

3) Apart from wii games is there anything else i can run from the usb loader/h/d drive if i did partision the h/d like movies/music/apps/emulators & gamecube games?

Hiya;

Thought I'd post a bit of advice and ask a question at the same time!

just to let noobs know, you don't have to have a specific burnner to burn wii games. I have read somewhere that it has to be an LG make, but this is not true, i have had no issues with my standard dvd burner.

Secondly, I have modded my wii, so can someone please clarify if I am able to use wifi gaming without bricking up my machine?

I'm looking to play animal crossing if that helps?

thanks a heap xxx

You can indeed use any drive to BURN wii isos
BUT you need one of the 5 or 6 LG drives to READ wii discs on the pc

anyways, you can go online, it wont brick you
and I don't think nintedo will ban you

No, this is dumping Wii games straightly from your DVD drive to PC. We need an LG-make burner for that,

Search and you would find the answer.

It's safe if you protect yourself or others from cheating (Which will lead to an instant ban)

One advice:

Do not give others advice unless you are a pro/sure/done research.

The WBFS (Wii backup file system) can manage the wii ISO files (not wiiware or VC) on the HDD (you can add and remove them)
The loader can load these directly from the HDD (or USB device)
The loader doesn't install anything on the wii

Nope, the USB Loader is used to run backups from a USB Device. It doesn't copy/install them to the system menu.

Then how was this acheived

I know there's a wiki which tells you which IOS a game uses when loading (http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/index.php/Game_Ids_and_IOS) but could someone tell me how to find which IOS a game needs to load? Is there an app or something that can take an ISO image and then just spew out an answer? I've tried poking around with WiiScrubber and looking up games I've got which are on the wiki but I can't see how to tell which is the "magic" IOS in each case. Cheers.

When running games on your Wii, you can use SoftChip to get that information: Just enable logging and look at the logfile in /SoftChip/ at your sd card after starting the game once.

On your pc: Get Waninkoko's IOS Version patcher (1.1) and open the .iso with it. It tells you which IOS is currently used and you can change it if you want.

Ah cool, just got hold IOS patcher and will have a try with it. I thought there must be a fairly easy way of finding out. Thanks very much

dont go overboard about it... it might just be a faulty power cable.

mine did that once, i plugged it in and nothing, not even a red light on the power button.

so i unplugged it, put t on the bed, and started giving it a bit of a smack on the side, plugged it back in and strangely enough it worked lol.

try it if you like, i give you permission to use my violence method

Okay, I have a question. I posted this in the compatibility thread but no one replied to it, so hopefully someone will do it here (And sorry if it's considered off topic).

People claimed to have gotten Rune Factory Frontier to work with the USB Loader. However, when I try to play it, it freezes on a loading screen when I try to leave the house. Is anyone else having this problem too, or is it just me? The game runs fine on gamma, but videos stutters so I wanted to use it from my HDD.
