Hi,

I have just bought a new wii that comes with a remote with built-in motion plus. Can I still mod the wii?

If yes, do I need an old controller?

BTW, there is no GC controller slot.

Please advise. Thanks.
yes.
but a can you tell if at the bottom of your wiimote the rvl number ends with 2 letters or not?
if it ends with 2 letter you need a old wiimote to do softmodding/using softmods

I am guessing your Nintendo Wii is the latest wii Model, it is RVL-101. I have the same Wii, and I modded it, there is no problem. Please download ModMii (search the thread on GBAtemp) and you know what to do rest, it will give you the instructions.
The Wii does have a GC slot, but its hidden, with screws, and the wii (RVL-101) has NO Nintendo Game cube compatibility, and you do not need a gamecube remote control, just use your normal Nintendo Wii remote control.

what base IOS are you using? (56, 57, etc) IOS56 base should work for most games

Ok, guys. I got a problem.

My wii freezes after the health warning screen and if I do try to boot into the HBC thru boot mii or priiloader it freezes.

I have tried to reinstall the HBC thruough the hackmii install, but that also freezes.

Also I have a NAND backup, but I have no god damn clue if its mine or not(I've modded other peoples wii before), I should of labeled it lol.

Though I was able to do a syscheck, and here's the report for it. If you want the original excel file I can supply that as well.

This means you can't make a backup of your Wii, though you can still install the Homebrew Channel.

If you want to install WiiFlow, download this app to the SD card, and follow these directions below:

Using the Homebrew Channel load Trucha Bug Restorer and press B. After the Warning select and install IOS36 with all patches.

After that follow the steps in this page.

Come back for further questions.

Remember: I'm at your side (and so are the talented dev's).

No, it means he CAN make a backup, but he can't safely restore it. You can still pay someone to flash your NAND using that backup though.

I know, just meant it's kind of redundant to make a back up.

A long time ago I actually did this and trying to restore got prompt for KONAMI code, unfortunately I don't have any GC controllers, but that would seem impractical.

Moron. It's WAY more important to make a backup if you can only install bootmii as IOS.

I just successfully configured my wifi for my virtual wii (neek2o) & am at the "the Connection test was successful. Perform a Wii system update now? Wii Support Code:11172"
Should I do this update? does it matter whether I do it or not? or should I avoid doing it like the plague? thanks.....

I'll add that I used Modmii & I'm on 4.3E on this nand using priiloader...

you prolly have hacks enabled to block updates, but no need to perform an update on neek, no harm in it either

cool, thanks.....

Another quick question... I was able to extract my miigx files (mii's) & wii save files to my sd, but I can't figure out how to get them transfered to my new nand. I was hoping that I could just drag & drop them into a folder, but it looks like that isn't going to happen. I've searched the forum for the answer, but didn't have any luck.

I just started to mod my g/f's wii today.
It was on version 4.3u (I used Letterbomb), then i followed a guide on YouTube, and it downgraded my version to 4.1u (had no idea it would do this, and I read all of the comments before doing so) I used one of the hackpacks, he had used and everything went smoothly, installed Homebrew channel like usual. Then i started to install some of the WAD packages, Priiloader worked fine, then, it came to installing DARKCORP-v1.1, it restarted my wii, then i tried to open Homebrew channel and it was upside down.....

So, I'm pretty lost on how to fix the issue. but, I guess my question is, how do I upgrade to 4.3U without screwing anything up and to fix the Homebrew channel?

--Edit: I was wondering if one of the corrupted ISO for Dakrcorp could have screwed it up, because my wii might not support burned dvd's?

-Thanks

Hi Gaza,

So what you need to do is get NUSD on your PC (I presume you're on Windows), and do the following.

1. Launch NUS Downloader.exe
2. Click database.
3. Click IOS.
4. Click IOS58.
5. Click latest version.
6. Make sure "Pack Wad" is enabled.
7. Click "Start NUS Download".

Now in the same directory as NUSD you will find a directory called titles, now go to the directory 000000010000003A and then 6176 and copy the .wad file there to the SD card.

Install it with your favorite wad manager.

Issue should be fixed.

At least I hope you can read upside down enough to access Wad Manager :D

I started hacking my Wii about a week ago, and I already have a problem:
I downloaded and installed some WiiWare games with MultiModManager. When I move the games to my SD-card and try to launch a game, a message "Failed to launch" pops up. The games work fine when they are on Wii's memory and in the SD-card, but I want to keep my Wiiware and VC games in my SD-card only.
So what should I do.
My Wii is 4.3E and I currently use the IOS58.
Should I install another IOS or something...
Can someone tell me a clear step-by-step guide for what to do. Yeh I'm a noob...

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.
