understood that modmii is the softmod of choice, what I'm asking is, would it automatically overwrite the softmod that I have on my wii currently
Yes.

thank you, hopefully this will work... =/

ummmmmmm trojans....? rly?
No they are false positives just ignore them or disable your anti-virus while you install.

Hypothetical question: If I installed a channel using a wad and later deleted it from my Wii using the system's data management, can I get the channel back by installing the wad again (keep in mind that I didn't delete the ticket)? In other words, would installing a wad whose ticket is already in my Wii cause any problems?
No, it won't cause problems.
Thanks for the reply.

Another question: What if I deleted a channel but the ticket is still there, and I want to uninstall it? Would simply uninstalling the channel's original wad cause any issues? Would it be preferably for me to use AnyTitle Deleter?
Sure, just don't delete the wrong thing a brick your wii.

What? I'm just asking if there's any issues in using a wad manager and uninstalling a channel's original wad just to delete the channel's ticket, without the channel being on my Wii (because I hypothetically deleted it, but not the ticket), or I should go with ATD instead.

My point was don't ever use ATD. It is extremely dangerous. Always use a wad manager to uninstall a channel. If you don't have the original wad, you can delete it from Data Management, although using the wad is cleaner.

Ok, thanks. However, I guess I'm not making myself clear.

What I'm trying to say is: Suppose I installed a channel with a wad and later deleted it with data management. This would mean that the channel is no longer in my Wii, but its ticket is. So suppose I try to delete the ticket by uninstalling the channel's original wad with Multi-Mod Manager. Would the fact that I'm uninstalling a wad whose channel is no longer in my Wii (but whose ticket IS) cause any issues?

I don't know if it would work. If it did work, it wouldn't cause a problem. If it didn't work, you could just reinstall it, then uninstall it.

There are new cios based on waninkoko's cios and updated usb loaders as well.
They have better compatibility with newer wii games.
They allow the use of an emulated nand for gamesaves and vc - wiiware.

The hermes cios have moved as well to rev. 5

Games are stored on fat32 or ntfs partitions in wbfs format. A separate wbfs partition has become absolete.

Oh that's nice. I've heard of this nand emulation, but is it worth having now when my wii is basically overwritten with mods?

I really have no idea about CIOS'es since i used a guide a few years ago.

Heh, but i already have a 200GB partition now so yeah :v

I also noticed there is a way to play GC games now with that SD loader, but that seems pretty complicated, and i don't have an sd card that big.
Is there any way else except to get ass expensive mini-dvd discs?

Hello, I've been able to successfully get Neogamma R9 and gamecube backups to work on my Wii (4.3u)
But for some odd reason 2 days or so Neogamma won't read backup discs and GCbackup launcher pulls up
the green screen, I fix this by reinstalling the .wad for Neogamma the mios for the GCbackup launcher.
I don't really mind this, its just a hassle. Does anyone know what my problem is, or how to correct it?

Use the guide in my signature to post a syscheck. Hopefully you won't have have to use Dop-Mii.

You used mauifrog's guide (a very good one), so your cIOS setup will be a bit different than the standard. You need to update 247-250 with the following bases/versions:
247[37] d2x v6
248[56] d2x v6
249[38] d2x v6
250[57] d2x v6

People are having trouble with the latest version of the installer, so use v2.1. You won't miss out on anything:

PS: Don't delete anything.
