Ok I'm so retarded for doing this. I messed up on an installation for a cIOS so i try to restore from bootmii/ios i have a nand backup in my sd and when i try to restore says Try harder hashimoto-san, then i kept trying to leave, but it wouldn't let me. So then i unplugged my wii. When I plugged it back in it wouldn't turn on. Is it bricked

I have 2 questions (yes I did a google seach;maybe i'm inputting the wrong thing to search) that I need to ask you guys.

1. What are a couple of games that carry the SM4.2U update?

2. What are a couple of games that carry the SM4.3U update?

3. Will installing boot2v4 mess up anything if I have a modified SM? (Mauifrog modded SM)

Befor anyone says anthing about updating boot2, I already know it's not necessary. I plan on running some tests and I know it will update my boot2, and im o.k. with that as long as there nothing that it will effect aside from a potential brick.

Thanks in advance everyone

Well yes, when i use the new HDD it starts installing but the procentage dosent go up. I dont know if ti freezes. Cuz the game is still spinning and the light on the HDD that indicates transfer flickers (like it allways does) but if i turn it off and put it in my computer ther is just an empty file. I tried super mario galaxsy2 and wii sports. (Before I installed wii sports to another usb flash drive and it worked(also zelda TP and pikmin 2)
It's either your HDD, or the NTFS format. You should try FAT32. If your drive is over 1TB, you will need to split the partition. Perhaps 500GB of FAT32 and the rest as NTFS.

NTFS support is still limited.
I cant format it to fat32. When i right click it and select format the only two options are ntfs and exFAT. And no my drive is not 1TB its only 500gb
What are you trying to format it with?

@jcsaxx You didn't follow the directions. Get rid of the Dop-Mii report and the duplicate SysCheck report.
I'm formating it with the windows one. The one, when you right-click on a drive and selcet fomrat.

question for amazing integration with backup loader: I know you can make a forwarder iso to Snes9x GX, but is it possible to make a forwarder iso to specific roms instead?

I dont really mind the not being able to install games issue any more. Cuz i can allways install to one of my other, smaller drives and copy it. I think its my drive. It is just a convinience thing so it dosen't really matter.
But it dosent want to run red steel 2. It just exits to the main menu for some reason.

I believe you installed cIOS d2x v6 wads earlier with ModMii. Set "Block IOS Reload" to On and run the Motion+ video from the Red Steel 2 main menu.

Strange question. I looked for a Snes9xGX thread but couldn't find one. If there is a better place for this question, direct me there.

I've been playing Lufia via Snes9xGX on the Wii.

Well my brother took his Wii home, so all I have is my memory card with the saves. Is there a way I can keep playing my game on a PC emulator?

In the 'Saves' folder of Snes9xGX are the following types of files: 1 .frz, 1 .png, and 3 .srm. Is this in any way possible? Don't want start all over =/

Also, I was using the snapshot feature or whatever it was called on Snes9xGX. Apparently, it saved as an .frz file (121KB). There is also a 220KB .png that shows my current position. The image and the .frz file were both modified last night, which was the last time I played. So I don't think I was saving in .srm, since the .srm files are all old. Is there any way I can get this .frz file to work with any PC emulator?

i have a stupid question. can a modded wii manage files like how a computer can(download, extract, move, etc)?
Depends on which files you would like to manage and how much you would like to manage them...

If you want "file manager" management capabilities over files stored on USB, and SD media from the Wii you can use homebrew utilities like WiiExplorer and FTPii.

As for the Wii's NAND filesystem, there is no complete "file manager" style homebrew that gives you full management capabilities. On a PC you can always extract the file system from a NAND dump and mess with it to your heart's content, but on the Wii, functions like reading, writing, deleting, etc. certain file-types are spread amongst different utilities. Here's a given few with a gist of their usefulness:
  • Any Title Deleter - Allows you to browse and completely delete (almost) any title on your Wii.
  • FTPii - FTP access to mounted SD & USB media along with support for the Wii's SEEPROM and OTP memory.
  • BlueDump - Utility used to dump the contents of (almost) any title on the Wii as well as the WAD.
  • SaveGame Manager GX - Allows you to backup and restore Miis and savegames of the Wii to SD/USB media and vice-versa.
  • Multi-MOD-Manager - Swiss army knife for the Wii. It's a WAD manager, IOS manager and more...

I also have a stupid question (I think). If I had my Wii on a 4.2 Softmod, and I connect to the internet- NO UPDATING, will it brick?
Connecting to the internet will not brick your softmodded Wii. Blocking online and disc updates will protect your softmod, and prevent the off chance of an out of region firmware brick. You will not be protected from yourself however, as there are many other ways to brick your Wii and update it for that matter; for example, installing WADs or using homebrew like Pimp-My-Wii, ModMii, Dop-Mii, etc... without knowing what you are doing.
