Sorry if this is the wrong section but here goes.

A while back (when 3ds firmware 11.3 was released) My 3DS seemed to not like the update and often caused random crashed. When 11.4 was released I thought it would fix my issues but did the opposite and made them worse. The system often refused to boot, before a crash the screen would seem to corrupt itself and freeze until recently when I tried to turn it on I havent had 1 succsesful boot. Although once I managed to get a message asking to delete home menu managment data (just a black background though) but after I read the message, the box disappeared and showed a random, glitchy mess. I tried removing the micro sd card but to no avail. Still nothing

"EDIT": As I was writing this I tried another boot and it worked. Turned off Wifi/NFC instantly. Another reboot, worked fine. Any ideas what caused this?

Lucky for you there is a new way to fix a brick with just a magnet and a flashcard.

Some have said that not being able to boot is sometimes related to the wifi card not being connected well enough on the inside. So could be a hardware issue where simply reflashing the nand won't fix it.

edit: although that example may be more of an o3ds case... I don't know.

With the Wifi off, have you been able to boot consistently? I don't know why an issue with the WiFi card would cause such strange things, but like SonicMC mentioned it has been an issue for some.

Seems to be the wifi, booted 3 times now

oppss...... i killed it again....

tried to open my favorite dsiware game (petit computer... dont judge me...) and it froze. Wont boot again. Any ideas?

got the menu back but hasnt crashed. Says to delete home menu managment data. Should i try to do it?

EDIT 1: also i opened the menu by holding L+R+DOWN+B on boot

EDIT 2: uhhh.... tried to update from recovery mode (incase i wasnt on 11.4 even though i think i was) but it crashed as soon as the menu opened. Was asking to enable wireless but it froze

EDIT 3:
Probably a hardware issue? Or a partition of the NAND being corrupted.
could be, recovery mode is pretty broken

Delete anything its asks you to delete, a format isnt out of the running but if the NAND is really screwed up I dont think theres a way to fix that.

Omg I think that worked! Software opens perfectly!

3dsware, dsiware, videos and virtual console all work perfectly! Thanks dude!

ok its not fixed. crashes using miiverse and crashes in AR Games. Probably in other apps too. If it is a nand corruption would sighax/boot9strap work cause it executes cfw when bootrom is loaded.

I'm pretty sure it's not nand corruption. How does it crash? Which error, does it just shut down, etc...

Honestly, i'm 90% sure your problem is hardware related, you're better off just buying another 3ds or sending that one away for repairs.

It just freezes, as mentioned before it sometimes wont boot after it

If i installed boot9strap and an emunand do you think that would make any difference?
