I used my GS2 as a GPS just now, only to find out that it doesn't speak the routes.

How do I activate it? I'm on 4.0.3 ICS (not rooted), if the firmware has got to do with it. I tried what the other forums suggested - install some voice profile thing, but mine was in grey.

I'm assuming you use Google Maps? Works really great for me on my SGS3 and it also has spoken directions. I remember this was the same when I had my SGS2 so it should be possible. Probably what ProtoKun said though.

I meant go into the Navigation app and press Menu while you're in the map view.
When I go to navigation menu, it only pops offline mode, settings, clear map and help. Settings has no voice option either.
Using the stock Google maps btw.

EDIT:
My bad. Ignore the above.

It seems that navigation isn't available in Singapore yet. Damn.

Oh, I suppose that'll be it, then. I was referring to the app labelled "Navigation" as opposed to Maps. They coexist (download the Maps application and Navigation comes with it), but Navigation has its own app drawer entry, so if Navigation doesn't appear for you, then you're right, it might be unavailable.
