I've ordered a Retron 5 but I noticed that the last proper CFW for it is based on older firmwares, which is a shame because I've read that the last firmware developed for it has a lot less lag and better emulation (I even read that Near ended up working on the SNES emulator for the newer firmware).
There is a version of the firmware which roots the system (since it's Android based) and enables ADB by default but does nothing else.
It sucks that it was left behind, it would be really neat to have access to different RetroArch cores, options and Android apps using the retro controllers on this thing while keeping the updates 0.3.4 made. But I guess everybody just kinda' forgot this thing existed, even with it's recent-ish re-release. I dunno' if there's any interest in hacking the system further but I did want to post about it here in case there was any.
