I'm thinking it's some weird interaction with the "simple" caching code and certain storage devices. I didn't notice a problem with my USB HDD, but with my SD card it was hanging for 6-7s before even attempting to start writing the memory card file. The SD card hang is gone with the new cache code.

Anyways, I'm finishing up the MD5 verifier and will send a PR soon.
My issue was with a HDD. And it took way, way more than 7 seconds....
Could you link me to your mod/version please?

Any chance of a "skip silent boot" argument? So we can make loaders display nintendont if required? (Assuming the card creation will be hidden again upon release) :)

I actually like the no GUI from loader thing. But an optional argument could help with troubleshooting...

Yes! I am. As a matter of fact, i'm the one who was surprised no one else noticed/cared.
It is OBSCENE.
@FIX94 Will this be patched in the main release?(so we can update from the app directly)

It's all a matter of being able to reproduce/confirm it. I still can't figure out why my GC utility crashes for people with some drive configurations when it explicitly ignores drives that are unreadable or not ready. :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

FWIW I think USB Loader GX already has CISO support. I'll see if it works with GC games currently or will need a patch.

Nice Work.
Might I suggest a line saying md5 verified/failed against redump database or something?

Not sure how it comes up if it fails. But it doesn't explicitly say either way.

Maybe even show the redump md5 as well as the calculated md5 to avoid confusion.

Edit: ok, tried one I knew would fail. Big Red warning. Lovely. Maybe a big Green one to suit if it matches?

Well since none of the codes I wanted to use worked for Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is there anyone out there who could take my save data/file and put a Deoxys on there or something? (This might be the wrong thread for this.)

Hey, I'm having some trouble getting the GameCube adapter (with 1 controller) and a ps3 controller working on my Wii U. The PS3 controller works fine, it also works with Wiimote and nunchuck. Same story with the gamecube controller. However, when I try to use them at the same time, the gamecube controller works but the PS3 doesnt. I've tried changing ports, putting my GC controller into slot 2 but to no avail. Any ideas?

you cant have both, bothe the wiiu gc adapter and ps3 controller are hid devices, you can only have one hid device connected at a time not 2.

you can however buy more gc controllers and use 4 gc controllers on the wiiu gc adapter, or use bt controllers like wiiupro,CC.

Thank you for looking at the memory card creation speed issue.

the ciso extension is allowed for Wii games, I can add it for gamecube games too.
currently, GC works with .iso and .gcm extension.

On my vWii, when I try to select the game and then press B to go to Settings, then turn on Memory Card Emulation and press HOME, it gives me an Exception (DSI) error and it fails to go back into the Homebrew Channel. Holding down the POWER button on my Wii U doesn't help so I have to unplug it to get it to restart. What am I doing wrong? Do I have an outdated version of Nintendont?

This is a known bug in v4.425. Press B instead of Home.

Memory card creation in that last build you linked seems great btw. Made 30-40 cards now under different scenarios trying to break it, yet it hasn't hung up once. :)

Do you have to manually make a memory card for each game you have? I tried doing the first like CatmanFan but it hang because I pressed home :D

Card creation is automatic when loading a game if a card image isn't found, but the current master build (v4.425) has some issues creating cards on some storage devices.

@FIX94 Can you check the PR I sent for Nintendont? It has a fix for the card creation issue, plus CISO and the initial MD5 verifier. (It *is* a fairly large changeset, though.)

why would you press home after enabling memory card emulation? by pressing home you are exiting nintendont, and nintendont only saves the settings if a game is started after changing the settings.

I crashed doing that myself trying to set up my default configuration / card emulation settings after switching versions around with no intention of actually playing a game at the time.

I asked the same question in the other thread but it seems noone is reading that one....
Does anyone know, is it safe to use WiiU formatted drive in vWii? Also would it be possible to ...em...make a wbfs folder on it and have wii or gamecube games stored there?

Sorry for the somewhat OT

how can you even use a wiiu formated drive? since its on wiiu format and afaik you cant add a fat32/wbfs/ntfs partition to it, so therefore nothing in vwii will ever be able to read it in the first place now i ask you how could you even use it n vwii?

No one's said anything because it's been said 1000 times in the wiiu forums you can't

I didnt know what format WiiU format uses. Maybe a fat 32 dont know, thats why I asked. Just wanted to know if its safe pretty much... So toxic :D

lol its a custom format its not any known open source format..., its like saying wiiu disc are simple blurays, they arent they would never use a known open format or else piracy would have been a thing on day 1 on wiiu games.
