It's mine too and I like that you can simulate a half pressed L or R trigger by holding the "L" button on the Wii U Pro Controller for games like Super Mario Sunshine when you need to spray and run at the same time.

On a side note, one benefit to using Wii U mode would be having the extra RAM to use larger memory cards like the 16MB one.

Also if Nintendo wanted to make a sleek console and not have extra ports they could have easily made wireless GameCube controllers with BlueTooth and use virtual memory cards like the PS3 uses for PSX and PS2 games. On the Wi U there really is no reason not to have GameCube Virtual console games.
And homebrew like devolution and nintendont proven that is possible.
It's nintendo being lazy this time :P

Can you unlock the AX maps in GX with this? I used to have them when this was still in the arcades but my memory card got corrupted.

I believe there's a cheat code that unlocks the AX mode, though I've long since forgotten where to find it. No, wait, found it

When you think about it, the GameCube itself is not being emulated at all since the Wii U is simply a much more powerful GameCube. We are only emulating Memory Cards (since the Wii U and newer Wii's don't have them) and the GameCube controller. Who would think that you could use a SONY controller to play a GameCube game on a Nintendo console.

I love what Nintendont has become and Nintendo is loosing out on all the money they could be raking in by not giving users what they want. By the sheer number of pages and posts in this thread it's quite clear that people still want to play GameCube games as they are some of the best games every made.

Huh? I had no idea that AX was hidden in GX. I was talking about the AX cup lol.

afaik you can unlock the ax cup by playing normaly theres no such thing as triforce linking or whatever how would that work?gc cant acept triforce cards and the triforce machine cant accept gc memory cards

from what i readed you must beat cups on master and finish story mode or something

random guy on gamefaq said:
All right, first you must unlock "Master Mode" (which is achieved by beating the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Cups on expert, while achieving first overall) and complete the three default cups mentioned before, along with the Diamond cup. (which you already unlocked, assuming you followed the directions of completing the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald cups)
Second, if you're low on tickets (less than 225) you have to earn them. Before going all out on the cups, stock up on tickets by winning a few Grand Prix (any difficulty), completing a story challenge on a new difficulty level, beating a staff ghost, and unlocking said ghost.
Once you have a good ticket number of 250, you can complete the cups on master mode. The AX cup will NOT be avalible the second you rush back to the Grand Prix screen after winning the cups. You have to buy the circuits in the F-Zero shop, listed under "items." This is why you stocked up on tickets, to buy the circuits.
It's annoying, difficult, and nags you in your sleep, but once you complete your mission to get the AX cup, you won't be THAT sorry.
(p.s., the Mute City: Sonic Oval is unlocked by beating the AX cup on any difficulty. It is sort of optional to buy, but it's a wild, fun, and simple place to train in.)

or you could cheat or use a full save its up to you.

The arcade machines supported both the magnetic stripe license cards and Gamecube memory cards. You could bring your vehicles from home with you to the arcade and race them and/or get ranks.

Actually if it is really PPC based there's no reason for nintendo not to include at least also Wii support. I mean, why is there no GC support on WiiU? Because they didn't want to include a drive that is capable of reading small disky, because they didn't want to add ugly GC controller ports and because they didn't want to add mem card slots. But this is different with the Wii. If you want to include Wii supoort on the new system you don't have to add hardware, just software. They just have to add two sandboxed systems, one virtual Wii and one virtual WiiU.
There are reasons, and it's a commercial one. Backward compatibility in the digital era is not profitable. GC classics can be sold as new digital releases, old discs and games can't.

Hey I've got an issue with HID controllers on Warioware Inc. Mega Party Game$.

Using the official gamecube controller adapter for wii U the 3rd and 4th players input is really messed up. Sometimes buffered sometimes not responding at all. Sometimes working.. Players 1 and 2 have no problem. All wired official gamecube controllers.

Your iso is trimmed or corrupt. Same problem with melee

Wow that was fast thanks a lot!

I might just make me a real rip of it then, who knows where this one came from.. Thanks!

Even faster clock speeds and SMP but im pretty sure that would render most gcn games unplayable (overkill lol)
I been thinking of this very same thing a couple of months ago, faster GPU means less stability and more recoding, I'd hate to lose the ability to play Gamecube and that's why I'm planning if the next Nintendo console didn't have Wii mode to keep my original Wii and just get rid of the Wii U instead, assuming it's backwards compatible with Wii U games!

Nintendo is selling Wii digital games now and they aren't badly priced. Much cheaper than buying the game on disc now. Metroid Prime Trilogy digital is only $20 versus $80+ physical.

 where the flying fraque are you seeing it for $80? It's at my Wal*Mart for the regular $50 that Wii games go new

No one by me has it new or used when I last checked a few months back. Just checked now and my local GameStop has it used for $50. I'm in New York by the way. The $80 was eBay's and Amazon's prices at the time I was looking months ago.

Got my 3 metroid prime in original format B-)
- 20$ for metroid prime 1 and 2 (each)
- 30$ for metroid prime 3.

Of course they were used, but still working fine :vul2:

(Yay for Vulpes emoticons!)

I'm talking about the Wii version of all three as I prefer the Wii's motion controls.

Someone on Amazon is selling the Trilogy for $200.

The thing I like about Nintendont is that it doesn't have that stupid anti-piracy required disc crap as that wouldn't work on non GameCube Wii's or the Wii U.

Nintendont has certainly come a long way in the last six months or so.

My one final request would be getting Broadband Adapter emulation so we could play some Mario Kart Double Dash online or some Phantasy Star Online too.
