Well you always learn something new, that's like a squareish widescreen.

Yeah, pretty much! (but when you think about it, so is 4:3, since 4:4/1:1 would be a square ;)) Since 4:3 is equivalent to 16:12, it is very, very close, but with an extra bit of wiggle room for CRTs.
Actually the TVs themselves stretch it, not the GC, but other than that, yeah, spot on!
So close! Sorry!
Alright, just checking.

Sharing source code for open source project is fine, it's when someone shares something copyrighted that action has to be taken

More like a even more squarish standard. I can share a couple pics to show the difference between how things look and how they should.

so you are on 313 and it does this? if so this is what we were looking for, fix has a theory it depends on the console for ppl getting those random freezes, do you have any idea if you have some setting ON on the wii settings that isnt on the wiiu vwii settings?

try changing settings around or even video cables if you use component and such, its for sure a console issue we just have no idea what the setting that is affecting this is.

I'm using a PAL Wii, and composite cable, since using RGB cables gives NTSC games a red tint. The game I tried was Timesplitters 3 again (NTSC) but Smash Melee (PAL) also froze eventually. Seems to be random.

Here are my settings:

Freezing seems to be random. I also remember trying native control on, as well as memory card emulation.

Game doesn't get past licensed by Nintendo screen using RGB.

something to do with cables...?

I think this is a poor game example. Now that I look at it, I think SMS is supposed to display in 448p. Most other games, especially 3rd party games and ports, should display in 480p though.

any reason why you have noone on video instead of auto?

the problem is probably something external to nintendont setting but why do you have noone?

does your wii have any special homebrew theme? or using any special thing you arent using on the wiiu?

This post shows it has spoiler tags but there isn't any. Pretty sure I broke my reply box.
Nevermind, it's been fixed.

Why is none even an option? Lol
becuase some ppl use noone? no idea never used it lol you need to try checking your wii settings all of them and post them not nintendont but wii settings and then a syscheck or something since the issue is probably like some external thing or installed old thing i bet becuase theres no reason to work on wiiu and not work on the wii.

I don't mean to be the spelling police but is there a reason you keep spelling NONE with an extra O in it? I keep reading it as no-one.

If you use 'auto' in ULGX, it will force a video mode with or without DF, 'none' is the only way to disable forcing. You can prove this with Melee, going to the Deflicker setting and it will do nothing. Doesn't exactly answer the question but it can be useful.

EDIT: Actually, never mind. This info is from many revs ago for both ULGX and nin, so it might already be fixed on the latest revisions.

I'm pretty sure the underlined portion was directed towards jwitz.

Just a question to everyone who started getting random freezes around rev 313 do any of you guys have a modded homebrew channel? i mean any modification besides the default homwbrew channel blueish color?anything diferent from the default one?

Does a real gamecube display the widescreen mode natively? If it need some kind of hack to display that way, then it is a minor issue.
Don't take some thing that isn't native as a serious issue.
The same subject has been brought up before, been repeated now, and the dev have said it is difficult, so case close and wait or do it yourself.
