There is a reason for the background I chose, besides that it was popular. The color was pretty consistent, white and gray. The other popular ones had large differences, making it near impossible to see part of the games list. You need to keep that in mind.

I was doing this as I use WiiFlow so I don't want any printed text when Nintendont loads.

In that case just add
Code:
return;
to the first line of PrintFormat (font.c) and no text will be printed.

Thanks.

I have compiled both r219 and r220 with the new background image. Keep in mind that you MUST use a loader like WiiFlow as there is NO PRINTED TEXT when Nintendont loads, NOTHING.

Just replace the boot.dol in SD: /apps/Nintendont/

Looks great!

Why both versions?

Game: Mario Party 4
Describe Issue: Random crashes at the load screens (white screens). Not sure if it helps but I still can reset the Wii U if I keep the POWER button pressed.
Region Game: NTSC-U
Wii/Wii U and region: Wii U 5.3.0U
Nintendont revision: r216
Last know working revision (if any): I've always had these random crashes in previous versions but if someone knows a version that doesn't have this error, please quote me so I can edit.
Loader used (if any) with revision no.: No loader
SD/USB Pen/USB HDD: USB HDD
SD/USB Pen/USB HDD make, model, size, format & cluster size: Samsung 500GB M3 Portable External Hard Drive, FAT32 32k/cluster
ISO 1:1/compressed: Tested raw and compressed
McEmu/Real Mem card and size: McEmu multi 8 MB (1019 blocks)
Native on/off: off
Controller used if Native off: Wii Classic controller (actually, a PS2 with a PS2 to Wii Classic adapter)
Composite/Component/HDMI: HDMI

About this error, I tried now with a raw ISO and the error persists.

Is a Y-cable required for self-powered HDDs on Wii U? I'm perfectly able to run Wii games in CFGloader (tested with Fire Emblem RD, ran perfectly smooth), but when it comes to Nintendont, I almost never get the games to start. Got Luigi's Mansion running a couple times (with poor framerate), but otherwise, unsuccessful attempts.

Figured it out. Fire Emblem didn't run it as smoothly as I assumed it did. Gonna order an Y-cable for my HDD.

And I just want to say that I'm extremely impressed with what I've seen of Nintendont. All the coding work and testing and passion that's been put into this application is just enormous. Great work, I'm really looking forward to what you guys can achieve with Nintendont :yayu:

What, so now it's ok to post builds of nintendont without including the source?
The source just needs to be available upon request. And you have it. The source is identical to the one on Google Code, but with return; added as the first line of PrintFormat.

That's news to me, when I posted the build with all the printed text removed way back then I was threatened with account deletion and the post was deleted in less than an hour before I could even offer the source but whatever.

If it was more than one line and that line wasn't announced publicly, then it would be a bigger deal.

I'm part of the project though and I've got no problem with this. Especially since I was the one who told him how to do it.

The Nintendont text is pixelated because I don't know what font is being used so I took the HBC Nintendont Icon and stretched it over the word Nintendo.

Just keep in mind that you will have to use a loader like WiiFlow as the black text will be gone where the black background is.

EDIT: I got an idea, hang on.
Thank you so much, but if you're okay with it can I make an edited version maybe? I just got home from work and I wanna try to make the Nintendont test to look nicer, also maybe if you have any suggestions I'll change it, I may not be a programmer but I'm an artist!

not it cant you cant affect games with widescreen patch if its off, when widescreen is off teh entire thing is skipped so no that couldnt affect those sonic games and you have been saying this issues on and off on each rev and most of them never ever touched any game pathcing system just extras here and there so if you have widescreen off 219 to 220 has no diference at all when starting any game since the entire thing is skipped anyway.
I never turn widescreen on, never used them once, I think they ruin the experience and it might break the games anyway, but like I said certain revisions had these games running perfectly fine (every time I test them with said revision) and other revisions break these games (again every time I test them) I always make sure to delete the config file and I use the very same isos, I don't know what breaks them in certain revisions but I know that it's not by a mistake I'm doing, I helped a lot in the progression of Dios Mios as a tester and I know how to use roms and isos, I make my own clean rips and I know they work!

Can you edit your report to include some additional information.
When you tested in 2.220 was widescreen or any other non default option on?
If widescreen (or other options) was on does it have the same problem when widescreen is off?
In at least one of your reports you mentioned details about the vid mode seeming off before it died. but not in this report. It should be included. has the same vid problem been in every version that didnt work or has it changed?
What vid modes are you using and does changing them have any effect?
If the problem has come and gone based on the version including which versions worked and didnt work would also be helpfull.
The more details you give the easier it is to track down what is going on.
I have to say this is more helpful than "stop reporting these stupid games, nobody cares" anyway you asked some good questions here, I never used widescreen or cheats, as I turn everything off, the only things I "sometimes" turn on are emuMC on/off and video force to auto/NTSC since both PAL games I have play audio with no video with video force is set to "auto", the results are always the same for these games I mentioned though, the flicker I mentioned happens every time since rev2.200+ when the game is broken, it does that little flicker thingy for a split second which is like the console is changing from NTSC to PAL, but it's only for a split second then it stays on black screen, nothing happens and the reset combo doesn't work, no sound or anything, I wait for like 5 minutes and nothing happens and I have to power off the console.

Edit: also I delete the config file before I test, I forgot to mention that!

R219 was requested by sonictopfan
I hope you don't mind I made some edits to the background, tell me what you think

I tried to make the text look nicer on the eyes, sorry without the font this is the cleanest I could do.

1416338909-nintendont-bg-2.png
Tried so make the font have nicer colors.

1416338909-nintendont-bg-3.png
Same as above but with white background (for black font).

1416338904-nintendont-bg-4.png
Just being random, I kinda like this one.

Since I can't compile Nintendont, if you use one of these for 2.219 I'd be very thankful, thanks!

The only "issue" that I have with these images (including the original one of the mod) is that the logo is too big. In my TV, a little bit of the top of the cube is cut. So maybe if the logo could be a little bit smaller, it would be shown in its entirety.

I like the second and first one the most.
Quite good actually, it gives the feeling of the original Gamecube Boot, yet somehow accommodated for Nintendont.

In any case, since it's been brought up, here's the full statues, just so I don't be the bad guy:

Game : Sonic Mega Collection
Describe Issue : Some games have no audio
Game ID : GSOE8P
Wii/Wii U : Wii
Nintendont revision : 2.220
Last know working revision : 2.219

There, now that I have completed my task the right and acceptable way, I will no longer do any testing or reports, I apologize for all the drama I caused, thank you.
I went to try and reproduce what you were seeing and realized you didnt report which games had no sound. And if their not games that are unlocked at the start how about a save file that has them unlocked.
