cache.txt and in the folder of the game

Yeah, that is what I have been doing. Actually, on 1.38, without the cache files, an error comes up telling me to "reset the gamecube system" The old R85 still works almost perfectly despite insane loading times. Does anyone have any of the newer versions with caching working with SMS?

v1.43 does work with super mario sunshine

it has locked up one time on me but i was using a cache.txt file, I have been playing it for the last 30 min. without the cache.txt it has not locked up yet

So what are all the cache files doing? Do we need one for each game we have, do we need to name them to fit the game ID? Do we absolutely have to use them? I'm only curious as the access time on SD doesn't bother me that much.

i was experimenting with intermet's cache file he posted, I managed to get it to work but I think it caused the game to crash so I just started to play without it to see if it was the cache.txt making it lock up, so far it has not locked up yet, as far as the game id no just name it cache.txt then type in what files you want nintendont to cache then put the cache.txt file in side the folder were the game iso is located and nintendont will cache the files you typed in, you don't absolutely need them but it can speed the loading times on your games, if it doesn't cause the game to lockup, or not boot at all

Edit:If you are going to use cache.txt you will need one per game, and you need a way to see what files are being loaded (you can use dolphin for that)

Well, I guess the cache.txt is a list of files to be copied in ram before execution.
So game is running from ram instead of the iso (SD or USB) and it should be faster than from the SD.
It's only a guess...
If so, this should be only needed if the game is loaded from an SD card, an USB HDD should be fast enough to allow the game to run without it.

Sunshine has been working for months. No more freezes (although i'm not sure if it has lost compatibility)

All games on the compatibility list should be checked without cache.txt first.

Where are the Memory Card files located if I am playing through a USB?

EDIT: Nevermind, found them in USB:/saves/

I am trying to pass some of my gci/gcs files to the RAW format used in Nintendon't but I can't find a way to do it. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Do I have to do it through Dolphin?

Also, I will try to put manually a memory card for the games that do not create it nor detect it just to see what happens. (Chaos Theory and Pokemon Colosseum i.e.)

yes you have to use dolphin memory card manager to import saves from one to the other, unless someone else has found another way to do it

I have a 1GB SD Card (just 968MB :( ) i can't play any game, unless any iso game is compressed, but still being 1 GB..

I don't have more devices.. just the SD using for homebrew apps and HDD for games (doesn't work anymore)

Go online and buy a USB drive. You can probably get one for a few dollars or maybe even for free.

USB Kingston or Sandisk flash drive doesn't need Y-USB Cable? someone tested Nintendont with USB flash drive and no problem...

I got a 2tb hdd for about $100 locally. Works perfect for Nintendont. I'm not sure if that's possible for you.

I get the same problem on 1.43 where it asks me to turn off the gamecube console and refer to the instruction booklet for further instructions. Is this affected by my having a save file from R85 still in the saves folder? It gives me this message with both mcemu on and off. I am using a standard wii console with a dualshock 3 controller and playing through an 8GB SD Card.
