Really? Crazy....need to read more into how gx functions on wii u then...either way, my statement stands aside from this being a loader(?) and not an emulator.

Original Info:
"Nintendont is obviously not a modification of the MIOS, like DIOS MIOS (lite), because the vWii does not have a MIOS.
It is neither a emulator, because the vWii is not powerful enough to emulate GameCube games.
Nintendon't will be more like an interpreter which runs Gamecube games natively. Most likely it will work similar to Devolution, but nothing is confirmed yet."

soooo....what WOULD you call it then? Loader is as close as I could get, using known terms. I know it says interpreter but that doesnt seem to fit, either...

Cyan posted awhile back exactly how Nintendont works. I don't want to go dig it up though because I would have to go through tons of pages

Don't be too mad yet. I checked them all on usb r44 and Resident Evil 2 (minor shadow glitch in widescreen mode tho) and Code Veronica X are the only one that worked almost 100%. Resident Evil 4 does also until you try to access a menu, then it crashes. HIGHLY playable until that, tho. Resident Evil 3 (has minor re2 shadow thing also) and Zero SEEEM to work 100%, but crash randomly shortly after they become playable. Resident Evil remake freezes directly after the warning screen.

SO, out of these games:
Resident Evil USA
Resident Evil 2 USA
Resident Evil 3 USA
Resident Evil 4 PAL
Resident Evil Code Veronica X USA
Resident Evil Zero USA

Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Code Veronica X are the only ones that run as far as I can get without memory card support.
I'll check the PAL versions later, if only to update the list so it doesn't give others these same false hopes. I feel like those PAL listings on the list never checked past the intro cutscene.
So, maybe wait a little while longer to buy back a wii u if the only reason your doing that is nintendont resident evil gameplay? Its up to you, and 2 and code veronica DO play well.
You still shouldn't have sold your Wii U though...

I was just meaning that, if not called and emulator or a loader, im not sure what we ARE supposed to call it, but its ok. From now on, I'll just refer to it as "this".

From a good source:

Nintendont shadows and redirects calls to the disc drive, the games run on their own.
With some tweaks and patches here and there to get the controls, mcemu etc. right.

Maybe that will give you an idea how to call it, but yeah, basically a loader is the best way to discribe it.

Pretty sure thats what happens on the ps3 and they call those loaders.
Loader it is. Got it.
Thought there were no gamecube components left in the wii u but im probably wrong as hell.

Very wrong. The vWii has most of the gamecube components still in it

The Wii was originally an add-on for the gamecube (similar to the genesis and sega cd).

The vWii is pretty much a copy of the normal Wii with some minor changes

USBLoaderGX 1218_mod05 has support for nintendont r39 only.
r40 changed the way USB is working, I didn't have time to update the loader yet. (I have computer issue again).
Sorry to hear that, I hope you'll get the computer working again soon and thanks for the quick update!

Lol, no it wasn't. I believe you are thinking of the Wii remote, because they considered making a motion-control addon to the GameCube.

It also doesn't have GC components, just several that are backwards compatible with it.

Could someone explain me how to make a controller.ini for a hid controller using hid test?

There's a link in the first post on how to make them. If you have a question after you read it then you can post it here and someone will answer it.

Thats what I meant. It would be kind of stupid to have a disk based addon for a disk based system.

And I meant it had the components to play gamecube games, Not the gamecube itself. We know its possible because of the near perfect compatibility it has with Devolution (and Nintendont in the future we hope)

See, thats what I meant. I thought the gamecube components in the wii were only there for backwards compatibility and in the wii u, the wii side is software only, with no gamecube. Why would they write software to mimic gamecube when they dont support backwards compatibility for that platform?

They didn't write anything to mimic the GC.
