I'm not sure what's interesting about an article that basically says that lag depends entirely on your hardware setup (tv, cables, resolution choosen, etc). Are you saying that nintendont is causing lag in melee that only affects people who play it competitively?
Exact. and it can be a bit uncomfortable too.. with Mayflash MagicJoyBox 3in1 is causing input lag on frames.
If people uses Nintendon't to play "Competetively" on Smash Bros Melee....
Then wrong app.

First of all you don't have the multiplayer option (Well, at least for vWii, Wiis can still play with the 4 NGC controllers)
And you don't have online connection to play against others worldwide.

It's a fighting game, yes, obviously lag is quite noticeable when you are playing a fighting game more than in other genre of games, but it is not gameplay-killing at all.
that's why people still prefering Devo on SSBM Wii U. as flame6753's YT channel

Hopefully with the Gamecube adapter coming out, it'll work with Nintendont lag-free.

Already tried forcing the game to different video settings.... No dice.

any kind of wireless controller will have input lag (even devo). if you want true melee experience then you need to use a real wii with real gamecube controllers

I'd like to use a loader, like WiiFlow, but mine doesn't have Nintendon't compatibility. I tried searching for the latest Mod revision, but everything is from like 2012. What versions are you guys using, and where can i find them? USBloaderGX has also been trouble for me, it won't let me have directories in USB and SD, and it won't save my settings, as well as taking a very long time to load. WiiFlow, for Wii games, has been fantastic for me, and I would love to be able to boot GC games as well.
Note: I'm on a WiiU.

according to flame6754 (youtube tester) he used a gigaware controller to wii-remote on ssbm devo, on a Asus monitor and No lag. He said

unlike nintendont, mayflash as some HID adapters/controllers have a input lag by 25ms of difference

It's never going to be fixed. Even devo classic controller has input lag. This is just how all wireless stuff is.

You also have to remember your running the controller through an adapter for something the adapter was never designed for. thats why the input lag is much more noticeable.

Devo has input lag, but not too much as HID controller, on devo it's more easier to control de player on melee instead of nintendont HID.
As example: devo has 25ms of input lag, while nintendont has half-second of input lag.

anyways, i'll wait for wii-remote support

Trying to setup Nintendont for the first time. Im using a 4GB USB Stick, because my HDD is setup with 3 partitions {WBFS, FAT32, NTFS}, which works fine for Wiiflow, and all my other emulators, however it seems like Nintendont requires the FAT32 must be the first/primary partition [I hope this will someday be remedied] (correct me if I'm wrong).

So I got a game to load, Zelda Wind Waker, the only game I have on the Stick, due to space restrictions. The game intro played through, while waiting for me to press start. .. So now it was time to configure a controller. Having a Sixaxis nearby I chose that option, downloaded the configuration and renamed to proper required name. However now when I launch the game it either detects the controller (lights stop blinking, and a single light goes solid), and then the Wii shuts off, or it hestates on Detecting HID Input.

I had been launching Nintendont from the Home Brew Channel, and never saw any other warnings, but due to the time it took to boot HBC and then Nintendont, I decided to set my Priiloader to launch Nintendont on boot. Doing it this way I began to receive a message "This version of IOS58 is not supported." Researching some forums, I had seen IOS58 rev 6176, is recommended (is this still true?) and that is the same version I have installed, verified with SysCheck2.1.0b15, and it works for Wiiflow, HBC, and my other mods and emulators.

Thank you for any news, suggestions, hints, or updates you can bring to light for me!

The ios58 error was due to priiloader, you have to either load from hbc or use one of the supported usb loaders. Did you enable Hid in nintendont settings?

edit: maybe you can install one of the forwarders in the first post and use priiloader to load it?

Using this as a clean install, it doesn't show any of the buttons, and just has the pointer icon as the background. Where do those extra folders go? I'm not normally this noobish, but for some reason I have no idea what I'm doing.
the extra folders go in the same place as your boot.dol file is located

Yes I did. Also tried setting max controllers = 1, per some other recommendations; not sure if that was beneficial or detrimental.

Just in case, are you using the latest rev 126? Maybe you should try downloading HidTest from the first post to make sure the controller is working correctly, since the issue started after you plugged it.

I did download HIDtest, but forgot to run it, so thank you for reminding me, I will try that now.
.. And yes latest version.

Maybe it's your tv because I have little to no input lag

All the buttons make values change so I guess it checks out, though the lights on the controller never stopped blinking (maybe normal with HIDtest?)
