After just a week of development, I'm releasing Nintendogs Deluxe, an unofficial enhancement patch for all first-generation Nintendogs games for the Nintendo DS! It was created as a self-imposed challenge to develop a small mod within only seven days. Since today marks the 20th anniversary of the game's initial release, I thought that revisiting one of Nintendo's most iconic games would make for an interesting detour from my usual work.
The mod provides an enhanced yet faithful way to replay the original Nintendogs by creating a single game that includes the content from all versions such that no external needs are necessary to complete the entire game.
More information such as the download link and setup guide can be found on the official website.

Changes
- The cut Afro Wig accessory has been fully restored.
- All version-exclusive items are now available within a single game.
- The event-exclusive Pair of Star Sunglasses may be found during walks.
- The trainer point restriction for finding specific items has been removed.
- Some items are now only available in shops.
- All cover breeds from the original games are available at the start.
- The unlocking criteria for all breeds and interior styles have been changed.
- A completely new title screen has been created.
- Updated and modernized all localizations.

I think now is the best time to try Nintendogs.

Great job, I wonder how long you worked on this mod in those days. Do you think you could have changed more things if you had added more days?

Glad you like it :)

Oh yes, I would have fully restored the cut Maltese and Papillon breeds as well as some unfinished dog variations. However, I cannot create models and textures myself, so I left those out for now. In terms of code, I have tweaked all the necessary things for them to work. I would really like to add all of those someday :)

I could have added a couple more things like additional neighborhood layouts and NPC dogs, I guess, but they wouldn't be compatible with base game saves. I could have restored some cut accessory items too but that would also break base game compatibility.

Now I saw that you made a mod for Animal Crossing for DS (I haven't looked at the changes yet), do you think about doing it for other DS games? Do you think about creating for other consoles?

I never modded ACWW, no. I made a mod for City Folk called Animal Crossing City Folk Deluxe. I have also modded the German versions of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
