Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES for May 2022 revealed

More retro games are on the way to Nintendo Switch Online. Headlining the handful of NES and SNES titles right at the tail-end of May is Pinball for the Nintendo Entertainment System, alongside Congo's Caper and Rival Turf! for the Super Nintendo. These three games are available now for subscribers to any tier of Nintendo Switch Online's service. Those in Japan can expect to see Umihara Kawase instead of Congo's Caper in the lineup.

sorry, I don't mean to laugh. I'm an expansion pack subscriber, and even I find it hilarious to see this dribble feed of games for the service(s).
They've been doing this drip-feeding since the Wii's eShop.

Sony and Microsoft gave out AAA games to their subscribers, Nintendo gives you 30+ years game that people don't even want to play for free on emulators. I seriously think that the management at Nintendo are delusional - they think that people are still in love with their old games. They think that those old games are assets but they are just trashy roms that can be found in the back alley of the internet.
For SNES/NES games, they're just a bonus for the online. Which also gives you save cloud storage. It's cheap, so getting a bunch of old games is just a nice bonus. I personally think when combined it's worth the 20 dollars a year. N64 expansion service is inexcusable though.

I personally don't sub to either, because my Switch is hacked. lol

I don't personally sub to it. But I think people mainly sub to it for the online, and cloud storage. The NES/SNES games are just a bonus, and just there. Also, it's super cheap.
That logic never made any sense... The only thing that justify a service like this being paid are the games and special offers, everything else you just mentioned are basic features that shouldn't be paid at all.

It is super super low cost (for them).
They have to pay for licensing fees. They obviously go after the cheapest ones.

When combined, it's an okay deal. They're only charging for online, because their competition does, and people are dumb enough to pay for it.

What I'm trying to say is that you are not necessarily paying for the online features, you are paying for them to keep these games there, even if you don't have any interest in playing them. If that wasn't the case it would be two separate things. And as you mentioned:

They have to pay for licensing fees.

....and people continue to attack me whenever I say that Nintendo's NSO is a complete joke, the expansion is an even bigger joke. Just give us back the freakin' Virtual Console already...

I don’t mind these games, yes I have retroarch and other stand alone emulators. I play on my switch online from time to time, especially with others. I don’t only play switch just for the classics, that is not the only thing available for the system. Also I’m not sure if I’m the only one that thinks like this but it’s kind of a bad idea to put out all the good games at once because if they do what else would they add after that. The games that were added here are actually good games.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
