Nintendo Switch firmware update version 20.1.0 now available

A new Nintendo Switch firmware update is available to download. System software version 20.1.0 has been pushed out to systems, making two minor changes in terms of visual updates to the Switch's Parental Control settings page, and editing the sound effect you hear when opening Nintendo Switch Online from the Home Menu. Of course, you can't ignore another aspect of the new firmware: general system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience. A breakdown as to the update's contents can be found on Switchbrew.

but soon will become a brick, big N is treating about that.
I remember a big scary message that popped up on the Wii that said the same thing about rendering the device unusable if it was modded. Nearly 20 years later my Wii is still 100% functional. I dont' care what they say

Yeah, they 1 million percent are just doing damage control and hoping to scare as many people as possible into thinking their shiny new bonkers expensive device could be damaged if they mod it. They absolutely know that if they do, it would be a scandal and is incredibly illegal, but its still hilarious that they included it in the t&c anyway

This does not matter and it's the most braindead narrative against Nintendo I've seen as of late.

If you're not a brainlet, Nintendo should never be able to detect any signs of Modding on your switch, period. AND you can easily recover from a brick on switch anyways if you back up everything.

Overall, this whole disscussion is nothing to anyone on this website.
All they have to do is scan your SD card for their dumped keys, don't be so dense.

This update also appears to add support for the new dark theme in the NSO app. I got the notification about dark theme being available in NSO before I updated but it didn't actually work until after.

There's no advantage in updating to 20.x just right now, right? At least until you have to run a game that requires it...

I've read the firmware 20.x update reduced the amount of RAM available to mods and modules, that's a big downside.

P.S. Still not updating due to the new DRM measures introduced in 20.
What DRM measures?
Edit: ...you mean the virtual card system? Does it force you to connect it to internet to run digital games for the first time?
