No, seriously, you're not going to download anything from their servers you don't own. Only thing you have access to is sysupdates. If you try, you'll be instantly banned because you're Switch ID would be forced through the whole authentication process, effectively singing it's death warrant on ANY future server access.

FreeShop isn't possible. Never will be.

The switch would never be hacked in a year. Freeshop will never exist.

A Youtuber ensures that a Custom Firmware is running through there. Someone knows something about it?

I remember with the 3DS and Wii U and others, at first there where some things that sounded crazy and impossible. And look at it now. It will take its time, but you never say never in this business. I do hope we get a big jump soon.

With the way the Nintendo online servers work, it is very unlikely something like freeshop will happen unless it goes through a third party website instead of nintendo servers. You won't be downloading anything from nintendo servers, and if you do it will only be for a short bit before nintendo bans you and you no longer have access to it.

To enter the servers of Nintendo, you must have the certificates in the Console and these are also unique in each console. On the other hand we have personal accounts that can only be used by console, even if a console was blocked and you used the certificates of a clean console without banning, it would be noticed that you will be using the same ID in two consoles and you would have two consoles blocked. Probably Nintendo has many methods to block the console.

The only way to take advantage of the services would be with a patch that hides any modification of the System, or even not modify the system itself, if in the given case there is a way to load Homebrew or commercial games not licensed without notice. There is also the possibility of the OpenSource servers that take a long time to create, due to the fact that the operation of official Nintendo servers must be studied, even for each game.

Apparently freeshop is possible, but would be basically unusable because it's basically a guaranteed way to get banned, and once that happens you'll have no access to eshop. And we won't have the luxury of unbanning a console ban like we did on 3ds

It's worth very little considering it's the same version as WiiU but with proper battle mode that WiiU should have had anyway. Mk8 shouldn't be on switch, that's the WiiU game just like double dash wasn't re released with motion controls for wii. The switches portability adds nothing to the game and they should have made a fresh Mario kart for the switch. Gaming is getting more corrupt every day, even Nintendo is selling out to paid online Bs when they have very few good multiplayer online games in comparison to xb and ps
The portability adds a lot, IMO. I'd rebuy every good game in my game library on the Switch if I could, just because I can use the thing at breaks on work, and etc.

This thread got seriously detailed into the usual piracy debate extremely quickly......
