Nintendo apologizes for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet performance problems, new patch released

sadsadasdas.png

When the review embargo for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet lifted, one of the biggest problems both critics and players had with the games was the performance issues. A little under two weeks have passed since then, and it looks like Game Freak is getting around to fixing some of them. A version 1.1.0 patch of the game has been released for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, bringing the first season of ranked battles to the games, as well as patching out select bugs. Included in the patch notes was also an apology from Nintendo, who stated that they are currently working on improvements to the games, in regard to performance problems.

We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games' performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games.

Exception of what? The game being unplayable?
Even if you surf the web, all you see is funny shit, nothing game-breaking. So I don't think I'm the exception here, no. Especially because as a gamer I tend to go off the rails, so to speak, and do what devs didn't plan players to do. Even so, the game has performance issues but nothing game-breaking, and bugs are mostly fun, nor do they hinder the experience.
I Don't know either but I agree, I try to go off the rails when playing games nowadays because it's so much fun! My brother informed me recently he does this thing called emergent gaming.
He plays Cataclysm & Rune factory tides of destiny, & dunno what he does in cataclysm but I do know I watch him play Rune
factory, we try to just immerse ourselves in the world, making foods and taking care of Kelsey by doing his quests.

Back on topic Pokemon violet looks deserted, like when you talk to the villagers & they don't have enough dialog to help the immersion.

This is the same Nintendo that simply banned ds and Wii online access before addressing the pandemic of impossible trades flooding the GTS system.

To be blunt, I expect their petty asses to just ban accounts that leave critical reviews before addressing any of the problems.
I noticed your signature on the PS3 & it inspired me to make a thread about the "Yellow light of death" just found out recently why it was happening!

https://gbatemp.net/threads/a-ps3-story-the-yellow-light-of-death.622802/
(that's all I wanted to type, I'm reading all these posts, hoping more people speak up about what they want video games to be!)
Post automatically merged:

but the thread is made infinitely better by making fun of pokemon apologists.

way to take the fun-Old Yeller out back.
Oh were you joking? Sorry it's hard to tell!
(but the interview thing I mentioned would be cool!)

Anyways. I think I figured out something,
This Pokemon game is missing key elements of world building for me.

It's missing good music that makes me feel emotion,
It's missing characters populating the map,
It's missing it's life!
& the story, from what I've seen, looks just not believable...

(Probably partly because I haven't sat down to play it yet)

I watched the comparison video too, but that's not the real issue for me, Played my fair share of low frame rate games, buggy games too, even the old ones had bugs & speed runners use them to play the game differently then I do!
I love that about games, you can play them however you want!

something they did get right, you can fight any gym leader.
(I'm assuming the game adjusts each gym leader's level to match the players skill level)
It's open world, (I would like more greenery in it, somthing like Genshin's Sumeru.)
The battle system is still likely good.

But I only have my viewpoint in life, not sure I should make a new topic to discuss what we love about Pokemon.

Actually beating these games I feel like my opinion has shifted to the positive although the game is super lopsided
Yes are these games absolute technical disasters, framerate and visual bugs, missing a lot of content - there are literally zero side quests, outside of completing the dex and the classes at school, you can't go inside any building outside of school, and gyms and sandwich shops which are just copy paste, barely any NPCs to talk too or get items from anymore. The credits, a 2d slideshow can't maintain 30fps and I was overclocked. No level scaling at all either meaning you can just one shot the first gym leader if you come back after 2 other badges lol.

But venturing around in the world is just so satisfying despite the lack of memorable landmarks, the writing and plot is actually well-thought out and entertaining with enjoyable characters - the last act of the story is what we need more from Pokémon and the game kicked my ass a couple times - took three tries against the final boss which has to be the best final fight in the series. That intense feeling you get when you are 9 levels under and inch through a fight is just amazing. New Pokémon and music are great as well I used more then 12 Pokémon over the course of my playthrough.

Unlike Sword and Shield which was so aggressively mediocre and went in one ear and out the other in about two seconds after I will remember this game and enjoyed it despite it being deeply unfinished to say the least. I lost faith in Pokémon after Sword and Shield and thought it went to shit with one of the most creatively bankrupt remakes of all time BDSP being an absolute joke. My faith is back just ignore it running at 15fps. Man this game is so lopsided it's unreal.

Too early probably?
As in too early for them to fix everything? Yeah, probably. I wouldn't be surprised if this takes several patches to smooth over, if indeed they can.

maybe a stupid question, but is pokemon about grinding or finding all pokemon or does it have a unique story (all of them)? I don't like grinding or anything.

I do breaded mushrooms in my air fryer alot. And onion rings, but moz sticks are good also.

Breaded mushrooms are good but the store bought version is meh, and making them at home is too much work and too much mess...
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I buy them frozen in big bag at a wholesale place here (Costco) and they are pretty good. I actually think they taste better air fry than oven or in oil.
  • Veho @ Veho:
I tried a few versions of frozen ones and they are underdone for my taste. Button mushrooms at least.

I tried breaded dill pickles while back, but all the breading fell off when cooking. Love deep fried pickles.
  • Veho @ Veho:
You need double breading or more. Then it won't matter if it doesn't stick, there will be a shell of breading around and the pickle rattling about in there :tpi:
