Gaming Nintendo 3DS US Gamestop Preorder/ launch details

So I went to preorder my 3DS today. Before i put down $50 i asked the guy a few questions.
1. The first one was how long do they hold the hardware for?
A: Games are typically held 48hrs. Hardware is up to a week.

2.Can I choose my color?
A: At the moment because there has been no official announcement on colors no, but once they are announced we will call you to ask. If we dont call u u can come & tell us yourself

3. He asked me if I would like to preorder any games & I said SSFIV & surprisingly he said that is not a confirmed lauch game so no. I asked what are some launch games?
A: Madden, Cartoon Network Rumble Fighters, & 3 more which i dont remember sry.

thanks for nfo. Sadly I won't be getting it at launch. What I want to know is when they'll be putting 3DS kiosks in stores to try out.

Launch is looking pretty dismal. The ones you mentioned are mediocre, and if you can;t remember the others.....

Hopefully Nintendo can get its NOA team in gear for some quick localization.

1. Games come on Cartridges/Cards, which look like the ones from DS. So Flashcards will exist.

2. Its not a micro, but a normal SD slot

I'm nearly the same - although I will most probably wait least than a year.. it depends on how popular it becomes along with any 'special offers' that might come about (e.g. 3DS & game(s) pack - cheaper than if brought separately)

there are only 2 million units being shipped outside of Japan & knowing Nintendo it wont be tooo expensive. Even if it was 400 id still buy it tho. i have a enough money at my disposal to do so.

You could still use MicroSD cause of those MicroSD to SD Adapters.
I think there will be 2 alternatives:
1. Flashcarts - Expensive but Easier
2. Homebrew Channel - Free but difficult to exploit.

And since pirates don't like paying they would go with 2

I don't know how nobody new this, but the one that mainly stood out to me was Dead or Alive Dimensions. I pre-ordered my 3ds along with that today

The other games, iirc, where basically just a bunch of casual games.

Though don't forget that they will likely announce the rest of the games soon.

While I agree, I have a feeling there won't be two options with hacking the 3DS. If number 2 is even an option, there wouldn't be a good market for flashcarts to begin with. Compare it to mod chips for the Wii; sure some people paid a fool to install a mod chip (Ok, some did it themselves), but soft-modding was free, and had way more benefits.

Pirates will choose the easy way, the free way. I for one, will wait until everyone else bricks their 3DS, testing the waters and confirming success, before I even think about softmodding my 3DS. We're all ahead of ourselves anyways
