If they are making this into a real game, please, do not make a FPS!
I don't hate FPS, but I can't seem to like them either.

LOL they just changed the lighting and the objects reflecting it.
Everything else has been done before. So thumbs up for better lighting :D

I had to agree with you. An FPS game with this good looking environment? Hell no, it's just going to ruin the beautiful scenery inside the Titanic!

999, woo.
I know, don't tell.

(Read: remaking 999 with these graphics.)

Oh God, no.

Lol this won't be anything like what the next generation beholds. This looks less photorealistic than the best looking current-gen games :l

Funny, most high end PCs could be playing stuff similar to this. Thanks consoles, for ruining the PC devs.

Am I the only one who's not impressed ?
I mean sure, wonderful graphics, that are getting more and more realistic all the time.
What about the game ? They still will have to write a good story, marry it with good controls and gameplay, and make it pretty,
There is nothing in those demos that I didn't see in toy story or even finding Nemo years and years ago...sure it's rendered in real time, but it's nothing mind blowing.
I'll take the art direction of Zelda SS and render it in 1080p and I'll take that over anything in this world.......
Really the better the graphics get nowadays , the more the games start looking like crappy movies.
I think the Wii U will have more then appropriate graphic capabilities for today's television standards. How much better can it get when all the entertainment out there will be 1080p ( Blue Rays, PS4,720,Wii U , televisions broadcasts ) ?
We are hitting a wall here, I'm telling you.Just like in the mid 90's when 2D games couldn't get much better then on a NEO GEO or SNES. We needed something new, and the PSX arrived...
Now what's the next step ? What's gonna be " radically different " ? Surely not the same CoD with even better graphics LOL.......
That's why I admire Nintendo for making small increments at the time, but still evolving introducing new, innovative GAMEPLAY elements.
In fact, the Wii U will be just more powerful enough to allow developers to port cross platform games with ease and even a bit of improvement, and still be able to hold its candle against next next gen systems.
Too big of a leap now would be unproductive for developers, who will have to spend millions more to adapt to new technology, and to Nintendo itself which otherwise will have to spend a fortune to produce new, cutting edge hardware which would in turn cost us much more then we are willing to spend.....

Arm73 yes you are the only one in the whole world who's not impressed. This guy spent plenty of time to recreate the Titanic. It's fking amazing work, look at those textures. Cost lots of hours and it looks amazing and he's still not 100% done. Imagine him being hired by a company like the guys who makes Time Splitters, and you'll play a section aboard the Titanic to recover some important documents or something like that.

I'm not impressed either.
READ the thread.

Titanic....HOW original, lol.
As an cad engineer in older days it would be great.
But now... it's just a copycat design, nothing special, just like the "bland "graphics.

Look, it's not like I'm not impresses by the demo itself or the work of the programmers.
I respect very much those guys and kudos to them for being so passionate and professional about their jobs.

What I meant to say is that I'm not impressed by the future of video games in general, and the direction that it's been taken here.
The article it's called ( and I quote ) "Next-gen graphics: CryEngine 3, Sony, Microsoft, make it happen! ".
Therefore what I wrote is in response to the allusion that gamers want this kind of graphics in the next gen system, which is not necessarily the best or only way to go.

No, somehow in two years time, the power of tech is going to go up exponentially and be crazy cheap that would make the wii u look like a wii again at a good price. Ps4/720 aka loop will have everything that has nothing to do with gaming on them as well as gaming on the side with 4320p visuals. Games will be dirt cheap. Development cost and time will go down or stay where it is. Games will run a stable new cd platfrom. Everyone will have cheap glasses-less 3d Ultra HD TV's. You would be a fool to think other wise.
/sarcasm

We do more color in our games. *breaths in and shouts* Colors are not a bad thing!

True. I agree, many games released today are still plagued with bugs and flaws which the game companies had plenty of years on their backs to learn. I mean seriously, look at Skyrim for example, that game has so many bugs it's just silly. The AI feel very retarded and the physics engine is broken alot of the time. The scripting is pretty broken in the game aswell, but being the size it is, it's possible they didn't get to test every possible outcome which in turn makes alot of NPCs say the same dialog over and over. Guards stopping and arresting you constantly (not putting you in jail tho) even tho you've already been arrested. Graphics being downgraded on PC because of console releases. It's just silly what modders have fixed already with water-effects, faces and similar.

So... they applied REALLY high-res textures and *REALLY* detailed maps to an already amazing engine... I see how this is an achievement, but we should also clap for CryEngine3 developers not just ORM, I mean - look at what kind of stuff it can pull off even though it wasn't designed to. I also wonder what kind of a monstrous build was used to pull this off - t'was a tad on the laggy side.

The fact that I can still tell it's not real tells me that they have a lot of work to do before it's complete.

Like seriously, it's a tech demo. It's not meant to do anything outside of show off how good the graphics can be, it's not even a game yet. You remember that tech demo that showed off Wii U graphics? Utter shit, no story or gameplay involved. The tech demo for Kojima's new Vita engine? Bullshit, no story or gameplay.

Seriously, criticizing a tech demo for being nothing more than a tech demo is just incredibly stupid. This is meant to show off one aspect of a game, in this case graphics. Adding "innovative" gameplay (or for that matter, any gameplay) comes later. Having good looking games is a nice feature.

Very lifelike graphics even at 480p (highest my comp can run) - imo they failed at the waterfall (a.k.a toilet scene) the water didn't meet the standards of what the lounge looked like. (could be my limited quality streaming tho :D)

Imo, what makes it so easy to spot a picture out of a game vs real life, is that there's so much bigger volume of detail in RL photos - and that's really really really hard to copy to a game engine taking in account the amount of time companies spent on making games these days.

Anyone remember that Ultra HD / Lifelike graphic model - name was atomic graphics/model or something to do with atoms. The idea was to built everything from the atomic level instead in sprites. I thought that was a pretty neat idea.
