Newsgroup download in UK => penalized or not?

Hello, I'm just going to spend summer holidays in UK, and I'm would to download wii releases, particularly mario galaxy and mario party 8 in PAL

I use to download via newsgroup in France, thanks to a free newsgroups and internet access provider.
so I would like to know if it is really penalized (I know it's forbidden) to download in newsgroup in UK?

Did you hear for somebody that had some problems with police for having download via newsgroup or another way?
Do you think I don't need to subscribe to a private newsgroup access provider and that I can download thanks to torrent or other?

What would you do if you were me?

I wouldnt worry about it. I cant see the police wasting money on someone downloading some isos. They'd rather spend thier piracy devision funds on capturing the people that make it possible for you to download games (groups) and distributors of illegal copies.

your ok nothing will happen to you if you download wii games

the police crack down on people who sell dvds not download them to use themselves. You can download from newzgroups without paying anything with Bt.

Download Grabit . Then use nzb websites to get your nzb files

all you have to do when setting up grabit type in news.btinternet.com and thats you off you go

Is it me or has using newsgroups for ds roms and wii isos become really popular? I thought IRC and BitTorrent were the best for this sort of stuff
