Gaming New Wii Shop Channel update? Help!

I was going to link my new Club Nintendo account to my Wii this morning, but when I went to the Wii Shop Channel, the option wasn't there! I guessed that I had to update, put all the stuff that people have said about firmware 3.4 and it disabling homebrew just creeps me out. Is there any DOL or WAD or whatever to install the newest Wii Shop Channel?

PD: I already tried to install the Wii Shop and IOS51 installer, but the option to link my Wii to a Club Nitendo account still doesn't appear in Settings.

Same question for me really, want to redeem a Wii Points card but can't access shop without updating. Is there another way to redeem points or bypass shop update?

I think so, check Big Moes thread "for dummies".
There's a step there to update the shop channel.

Thanks Jytach but found this link http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=117525 which helped and pointed to http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Shop_and_IOS51_installer and worked for me.
