You get an "I am an idiot" sticker.
That will install stubs and update you to 4.3, which has no other purpose than to block homebrew and try to brick region changed Korean Wii's.
What if I already have the 2nd revision of 4.3 and update?

Then you already did something stupid (or your Wii came with 4.3, which is excusable, although I would downgrade to 4.1 myself), and upgrading would still install stubs. What if I already have the 2nd revision of 4.3 and update?
Your Wii will be exactly the same (other than the Shop Channel working), as long as you install the wad directly.wait a second, So what Im hearing is
Using NUSD v1.9 (after updating database) Go to:
system> shopping channel> 41 all system> latest version (click start download)(Downloading Title 0001000248414241 v21 Finished...)
I can then check "pack WAD", save. Then install it using a WAD manager and it'll work just fine without updating the system software hence, My wii is no longer hacked and can run homebrew???
Choose Shop Channel v21 on NUSD. Check "Local Files", "Pack -> Wad", and "Delete Contents" (or uncheck "Keep encrypted contents" on new versions), then download. It will create a wad in the NUSD folder. Install that with any wad manager. Multi-Mod Manager is my preference.alright, i've got a 4.3 wii hacked with letterbomb.
i've never needed to install anything else or update any ios or wad or whatever it is so far, i've really only hacked this for some emulation anyway.
so if i want the shopping channel to work again, what exactly do i have to download and do?
I see this all the time but I've never understood what benefit there is to downgrading to System Menu 4.1, is there anything you can do with it that it is not possible to do with 4.3?Then you already did something stupid (or your Wii came with 4.3, which is excusable, although I would downgrade to 4.1 myself)
Mainly 4.1 is safer and offers more brick recovery options (Netflix exploit, Bannerbomb 1, Bannerbomb 2, etc.)I see this all the time but I've never understood what benefit there is to downgrading to System Menu 4.1, is there anything you can do with it that it is not possible to do with 4.3?
Correct, you can still play games online and not worry about your Wii updating itself. If you want to make sure you never accidentally update your Wii, make sure you have Priiloader and update-blocking hacks installed. So the new WiiShop thingy and IOS62 is for the WiiShop only?
I can go play games online not worry about my Wii updating itself or something?
I am on 4.3 right now.

Oh, yeah. I still use an older version, so the options must be different.i'm sorry, but i dont seem to find the 'delete contents' option.

did you mean to uncheck 'keep encrypted contents'?
I'm already on 4.3 though. You get an "I am an idiot" sticker.

That'd work just fine. It might break some warez crap, but other than that, it would have no detrimental effect.Wait, what happens if we update it from the console itself?
Yeah, just choose Latest Version. Is it possible to use DOP Shop or WiiMod to update?
Yeah, just choose Latest Version.
As in USB loading for example? That'd work just fine. It might break some warez crap, but other than that, it would have no detrimental effect.
