you have a good point there, but still, if you want to restore cause you did something and you want your old setup back, it is still handy to do so... i know i did lots of times using bootmii boot2 and not only cause it didn't boot anymore...
Well it is foolish to do that with BootMii/IOS, seeing as if something happens to go wrong (lose power, random crash etc.), you have no way of recovering, whereas with BootMii/boot2, you can easily just reboot and try again. It's better to just spend an extra half an hour or whatever to get it back to the way it was manually. Or just use SNEEK/UNEEK and keep backups of your NAND setup at various times, then you just copy & paste to go back a bit.

again a good point :P sorry been having long days at work i am a bit tired and not thinking forward the last couple days :P but you have a point there though although it bring me back to the question why my wii can't handle sneek/uneek, i still can't figure out why it just won't boot in sneek/uneek... but thats another topic :P

neek's probably not working for u cuz of a compatibility issue with your sd card or FAT32 HDD (assuming you've already tried all the typical solutions\methods of properly setting up neek, which is what it sounds like). Now if you were able to get it working on a friend's wii, then try the same setup using the same SD-Card\HDD on your Wii and it fails, you would have me convinced that something fishy is going on.

well weird part is that the first sneek release crediar made with sneek 1, you know, the one that was taken offline, worked for me although very slow and ever since i never got it working although i never changed sd cards or usb drive... but i "remodded" my wii and maybe it now works with my nand backup... still have to find some time for testing... although i still doubt it will work as a virgin nand didn't help either...

the power/reset buttons only work in bootmii as boot2
no they work for ios too, i just used them to do a nand dump on mine the other day. so that's not the problem

oh i must be wrong then all i know is my wii only have bootmii as ios and when i first hacked it 2 years back the button on the console didnt work that must have been fixed in one of the updates to bootmii i never tried it after the updated version was released

I have 3 Wii, One Black, one White and, one Family Edition Black wii.
Well Yes the New “Family Wii” can run BootMii, It just cant navigate it, Thanks Nintendo for disabling the Ability to use the Power and Reset Buttons and Removing the GC ports.

I tried a few utilities and Had success with Dump Mii NAND.
(Cant Post the URL sorry) Just Google
"GBAdev Dump Mii Download Google Code" its the second link and then scroll to the bottom for DumpMii

If your hardcore, You can grab a “wii u usb gcn adapter” and Solder the ports back like Hackaday Project. I have considered doing so myself … But Nintendont has me covered for GC games for the moment.
