However I've heard this may have patched the browser/menuhax exploits. So Cubic Ninja may be the only way to run Ninjhax on 10.6. (even once you have FIRM downgraded)

IR and NFC are used together - the O3DS NFC device communicates via IR, they'll probably be adding new firmware to the amiibo reader/writers. My concern is sockets, but nothing else.

OoT might still work, supposing you have another console handy to get the payload set up.

As per the norm of Nintendo "stability." It's starting to look like we aren't going to get any real major updates at this point, just more updates trying to remove homebrew.
