New trailer for "Castlevania: Nocturne" Netflix series released, focuses on Richter Belmont's origins

Fans of the Castlevania series sure have been suffering a drought by Konami in terms of new gaming entries to the series, but thankfully, their lack of games doesn't mean there's lack of new media for Castlevania, as the franchise has seen an animated series debut on Netflix some years ago, with good reception. The Netflix animated series has gone through 4 seasons, starting way back in 2017 and ending in 2021, focusing on several stories starring Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades and Adrian "Alucard" Tepes, with the main characters and story based loosely on the game Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse for the NES.

Continuing with the Castlevania Netflix series, a new season was announced last years, although this time the new season won't be a direct sequel to the previous 4 seasons, but rather a follow up series titled "Castlevania: Nocturne", which will focus on a new cast of characters. The new series seems to be focusing on known characters from the franchise, Richter Belmont; going through his origins as a vampire slayer, and Maria Renard, taking place in the timeline during the French revolution

For the unaware, Richter was the main character in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (a game which only got released on the Turbografx-16, and subsequently bundled into Castlevania X Chronicles), and he was also a side character in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as well (which sees Alucard as the protagonist in it).

Those interested in the new series can watch it through Netflix, airing on September 28th, 2023.

I really hope suddenly Konami released SOTN on PC as the tv shows are basically a promo for the game
This seems more like a prequel to Rondo of Blood, but I'm hoping it continues and expands into the games. I can't even count how many times I have completed SotN on multiple systems, but I would be down to play it again natively on PC. Hope is slim though, because the last Netflix Castlevania series didn't get Curse of Darkness rereleased.
