Hacking New to rxTools a few questions

So I just installed rxtools on my 4.1 o3ds and I installed fbi to my sysnad I still want to continue using my gateway for a few things.

What are the best emulators available?

Do I need to update my sysnand before installing game cia files?

Do I need to update to install homebrew?

Last question should I install fbi to emunand?

first off dont install cias to sysnand unless you need to . . .so yes you should install fbi (or bbm or devmenu) to emunand and install cia games and emulators there
and you dont need to update sysnand at all

Don't /have/ to update but highly recommended for autoboot emunand.

Works just fine, they use the same emuNAND.

I just followed everything in the rxtool tutorial except formatting emunand and kept all files on the sd

spose u cd use the mset to trigger rxtools when you require it.....so which do you setup first the rxtools and then gateway or what.....gateway be handy for the cheats i guess....cheers

rxtools and gateway use the same emunand
actually using gateway alongside rxtools on 4.x allows for the switching of mset (some people prefer it)

yeah thats why i stuck with 4.5.0-4e for mset

if i was op i wd stick with 4.1 for sysnand as 4x mset works every time....plenty other ways to access homebrew without using menuhax etc etc

Ok I plan to stay on sysnand 4.1 but is rxmode a home brew launcher or is there another app to install to run .3dsx

you can use cubic ninja cia version or homebrew launcher cia.....these are launched from emunand using rxtools

no need to update unless you wantto autoboot into emunand, which is best way imo.
ofc u should install fbi in emunand
just update emunand and you'll be good to go and can play all games .cia
