Well, if I were OP, I would remove the chip and send the damned thing to Nintendo.

Yeah, save games are gone... good reason to play all the games again^^

What would scrubbing have to do with it? As long as the update partition hasn't been removed it should boot.

But will the update really get rid of a banner brick? It's not like the bad wad will just disappear.

Well, it sounds like you're in a complicated state. Not much to do, but I say your best bet, albeit an expensive one, is SaveMii. The official website (http://savemii.net) explains how it works, and the official retailer's page is here: http://www.tehskeen.com/forums/showpost.ph...amp;postcount=8

It would fix your problem fine, and allowed you to use an update off a disc. But that's one of the only things you're going to be able to use to fix your Wii. That, or Nintendo.

Personally, I don't like modchips, and I have Preloader for backups/imports, as well as in case of a brick. But that's kind of mean to say that now, because it's not like it can be helped now. Anyway, good luck. If you do use SaveMii, it'll definitely keep your saves.

Updating will not help...
If you don't have trucha in your system menu ios, don't bother to use custom discs too...

If the "system files corrupted" not caused by something installed with homebrew programs then it's more likely it's because, indeed, something got corrupted in your nand. It could be channels or some certain file in your nand...

Newest filling the nand with savefiles trick may help you if it's caused by a bad channel though.

If it's under warranty then remove the chip and send it to nintendo that's what unmodded people due in the same circumstances...

ps: btw, savemii or the gc trick used to get into recovery menu is for those who semi-brick their wii... for other bricks system menu and it's ios should not be corrupted and you either need a 3.2 or lower system menu or trucha bug in your system menu ios... (also trucha bug for the custom disc you'll be using, but that's not a big problem since you can change the ios used by disc to be the system menu's ios). In other words, savemii is useless for those who keep their wii clean & updated.

USA version Smash Bros with Autoboot causes a screen saying: "Please Insert Super Smash Bros Brawl game disc."

It's got some sorta protection to stop you from Autobooting the game.


Yes, I tried inserting a real Brawl disc afterwards. It does nothing, because the Wii shuts down the DVD reader once that screen appears, to stop you from booting another disc until you turn off the Wii and try again.
