Since December, I have been unable to load New Super Mario Bros from the System Menu. It keeps claiming I need a Wii System Update. I can load the original retail disc fine in NeoGamma, however. I'm not sure what's going on. I updated *everything* just now. Here is what I have:
cIOSX rev19
DOP-Mii v12
System Menu 4.1
BootMii 0.6 (installed as boot2 since I have one of the original Wiis)
NeoGamma R9 beta 13
The latest channels/MIOS/BC

Here is my IOS report from DOP-Mii:

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I think I've updated all the appropriate IOS's to the latest and greatest, while avoiding stubs and keeping versions of IOS's that are no longer available on their servers. I'm using 249 to install all IOS's.

I also get this same issue with a few other new titles, mainly official Nintendo titles. My sister was having trouble with Super Mario Galaxy 2 as well, but since she has it with her I can't test until a bit later.

Install Priiloader and block disc and online updates. (I prefer that)
I had this setting on and Super Mario Galaxy 2 played just fine (retail disc). But it may take a little longer to show up. (don't know why though, maybe its Priiloader blocking the embedded update.)

Or you could always install it to a USB drive with one of the many USB Loaders. That will effectively block the update.

One more thing, SMG2 is AWESOME!

Hope this helps!

PS: Edit your Wii Device ID into "*s". I don't like showing that type of information.

I managed to get Priiloader working, thanks!

I went ahead and blocked all updates in general just to be safe. Now my family doesn't have to worry about accidentally messing up the Wii. I'll test the other game when my sister gets home.

probably cause these retail disks have a SM 4.2 update on em

even though you have all the required IOS, your SM still is 4.1 so these disks thinks your wii needs to update to 4.2
