Probably a really dumb question, but their website says to drop the template .bin to the SD root, but the download is a .rar with no .bin files inside.
Does it need to be converted or renamed or is it good as is?

there is no download for the .bin yet

Further impressions before finishing the review (a little sneak peak, since this thread seems lively):
  • The Sky3DS+ uses FAT32 to great effect, God bless Team Sky! It's a joy to copy stuff to it, no DiskWriter ever again! Remember, 4GB ROMs will have to be trimmed in order to fit, as is the case with Gateway.
So no support for exFat? Shame since that would solve the 4GB limit.

I am testing it with two SDs, one peaks at 11,5mbps (Toshiba), the other at 4,7mbps (Sandisk), and the cart works much faster compared to both my Red and Blue Sky3DS'es, so the browsing was definitely optimized or rewritten for the new design.

So my question is: with the Blue Button, before ejecting the flashcart, people had to press the blue button in order for it to save your save files to the microSD and not risk losing it. Do we still need to do the same for the Orange Button? If it does, do we just press either of the buttons to do so?

Thanks

Is there at least slight chance that it would be possible to play AP games on blue sky3ds? Like patching the the roms or something like that? Sorry, I'm a complete noob in this stuff. I just bought blue sky3ds T_T
Nope, not even a slight chance.

It's a hardware limitation, it could only be bypassed with a hardware revision.
Is there any card that supports exfat at all? Internal card won't allow it, Gateway also not as far as I know.
Well you don't know very far then, do you? Gateway supports exFAT.

I only read that and if that's true then exfat is of no use as roms bigger than 4gb also need trim or split with gw. So exfat is of no advantage, right?

It doesn't need to on exFat.

But there it's easy to trim a rom... I do it easily on OS X using the terminal. And for Windows you can use the cmd prompt or juste 3DS Explorer that will do the same with a GUI so... That's really easy to do, not really a problem.

@Foxi4 can you provide us a config file? (even if you remove every information, I just want to see how it works and see the file syntax)

Well, I just ordered it on one of the French listed reseller. I wanted to wait but I was convinced by the short review elements that Foxi gave us.
Waiting for it now! (Should be sent around the 16th.)

Damn, it's so sad buying blue sky3ds 2 weeks ago. Wasted so much money on that.
I don't understand why people are saying they wasted the money because they bought the blue card... I mean, yes, that's bad luck, but you paid for the Sky3DS with the blue button. You got the Sky3DS with the blue button Where did you waste money?
If I buy, let's say, a 1080p TV, and one week after that, the same company begins to sell the same TV, but with a 4K screen, at the same price, did I waste my money? No. What I bought was "a 1080p TV", not a "4K TV". Yes, I'd be a little mad against myself because "if only I waited one week, I would've bought the 4K TV", but I still have what I paid for.
