Yeah, you'd think that, because thats what it is. Vista comes up that it recognizes a mass storage device, and then it shows no drivers found.

I don't have any problems using the M3 simply 1st gen flashcard reader ín Vista (which is great btw).

Vista isn't worth getting till about an year after it comes out. Incase some of you suffer from amnesia when XP came out you were more vulnerible to exploits and everything then without XP. The first round of a new windows is always very buggish to say the least. It's not worth even installing till they have service pack 1 out.

As for the R4 and stuff... has anyone looked at the M3 stuff and see if they are using the new PCB yet? They are using a new box now i know that for sure

I don't think we have to worry about R4 to stop making updates. R4 has already been shown as a top performer int he slot-1 area of backup devices.

dunno if this has been mentioned already.. i got a few of the new R4s from winsunx yesterday. they came with the new card reader and cartridge case, but without the blue strap..doh!

the actual internals of the card are exactly the same as the original batch of M3 simplys. eg. the jumpers are still all present, the card reader slot is different to the 1st batch of R4s (better quality, different clicky sound), and the component next to it doesn't match the 1st batch of R4s.

i'm guessing they are left over M3 simply pcbs without the jumper set.. kinda whack really, not complaining though

My new R4 didn't come with the black replacement shell is this normal? also Im pretty sure mine is second batch seeing I have the new black card reader.

not sure. i got mine on friday and it came with a black replacement case and the new black card reader (ordered from realhotstuff). I got one of the newer batch(it still has the chinese language jumper) but I don't really care as there is no reason to convert to an M3S. Maybe vice versa

According to Maxconsole M3 doesn't contain an extra sheel either and comes in a new packaging. This change seems to be across the board for M3 and R4... Still no big deal. Both of these are great cards and the R4 team rocks with there updates!
