Yes whats the point! because they are blocked online whahahahahah
How many times do we need to repeat that using Powersaves does not automatically mean you can't use the pokemon online. If you use legal stat combinations with the EV codes the pokemon WILL STILL WORK ONLINE! This includes most other codes with the exception of a few like the wondercard codes for unreleased pokemon.
Wait, can i do 6x252 ev pokemon? Can i trade them through wifi?
No. If you produce a stat combination that results in combined EV total exceeding 510, it will no longer pass online checks.
The codes needed to produce numbers other then 0 or 252 look too convoluted and time consuming to be worth trying. I don't like messing around with items in my bag. The masterball count on slot 1 being used to gen pokemon via wondercard is worse enough, this is the last thing I want to do for special EV combinations.
I would save time just maxing out all EVs I plan to work on and then use barries to lower the specfic EVs I want until they are close to what I want. Then just use a quick super trainer session to get exact EV I want. As long the end result doesn't exceed 510 EVs, there won't be issues using them in online battles.
End the end once ORAS comes out horde battles might still produce EVs faster for me if I'm doing more then one pokemon at a time. Unlike X/Y, ORAS has guranteed encounter rates for all 6 EVs in their respective route locations. You won't have to worry about running into the wrong pokemon anymore like is common in X/Y. There might still be the issues with "weather" interfering. But for the most part, the legit method of EV training via horde battles still beats using PowerSaves when doing more then 1 pokemon at a time. The EV codes currently appear to only work on a single pokemon at a time. So that's a lot of cart swapping and booting back into the game over and over for stuff like that.
I'll definitely find some use for this when ever I raise up a single pokemon, but if I got two or more I need to train with the same EV stats, then I'll stick to horde battles thank you!
Honestly if PowerSaves would stop limiting us to their codes and let us make our own save game changes like CyberGadget, then all this wouldn't be needed. They implemented online checks via all methods of online battling now with the 1.3 patch and likely with ORAS too when it comes out so there's literally no reason for them not to. They could easily implement a method of allowing custom save game edits only for specific games if they want to go that route.
