If you want me to do anything else to it, let me know.

Thanks Duskye, that is hella cool.

I am thinking about putting out one more beta release before the final release. Let me know what you think with the latest build. I am also working on the game right now, so I will send another version to you here soon.

Added some BIG changes to the game. I will not give up all the secrets, but one change is that now Mario shoots the original Metroid Wave Beam instead of fireballs. There are many others, as well.

I am thinking of releasing a revision if you guys are interested. It would be an unpolished beta, meaning it is the same kind of beta I give out to the testers. Anyone interested, say so, and I'll release it as my last revision before the final, finished game. Also, it will give all GBA-Tempers, a chance to give their input on things they would want to see in the finished version. Any takers?

What is the CRC or MD5 of the rom you're using luckwii?

Because I've tried patching New Metroid Bros. (.091) but it won't patch to my clean (U) rom.

This is the clean (U) rom:
http://datomatic.no-intro.org/?page=show_r...s=28&n=0434

(the above is NOT a rom link)

If you have a different rom luckwii, then I'm afraid your rom is not clean.

I've also tried these roms without success:
http://datomatic.no-intro.org/?page=show_r...s=28&n=0479
http://datomatic.no-intro.org/?page=show_r...s=28&n=x039
http://datomatic.no-intro.org/?page=show_r...s=28&n=x100
http://datomatic.no-intro.org/?page=show_r...s=28&n=x168

(again, not rom links)

I don't know what else to try other than the JAP and KOR versions.

Newest revision (not released yet publicly) is patched with verified clean rom.
Thanks to SegNin

Still looking to release another beta here for GBATempers to test. I am serious, I could use everyone's help here for a final build. Anyone want to volunteer? All I need is for you to play the game and tell me what you think. Also, it will be severely beta, so everyone knows not to expect perfection. I need to know if it is too hard, any bugs, or anything to polish it up for the final version.

I will probably release it by the end of the day today. One thing everyone will need is to play New Super Mario Bros. to the 2nd Tower in World 8. Keep your save handy. Get ready to rename it New Metroid Bros.. That way the unfinished levels in World 8 can be tested.

This game has some MAJOR add ons. It will be well worth it trust me.

Hey Luckwii,

I'm sure that a lot of people will be willing to help you test such a great hack and give feedback. I'm definitely one of them. I sent you a message and hope ta help.

Thanks for putting your time, effort, and hard work into something that everyone can enjoy.

BIG changes in the works. Been working lately with SKJmin for ideas and game fixes. There are some really cool things now in the hack that are not in the old revision. Mario now shoots the Metroid wave beam, as well as a lot of other add ons.

TokyoMario, sent you a PM. Will be sending the newest revision for testing, thank you.

I'm having a problem with the patch, I get that checksum error as others have here. I've tried it with 3 different (U) Roms, all of which have the right MD5. Not sure what I'm doing wrong...I followed the instructions given a few pages back.

Looks great, and would love to help test it!

I'll send you a PM with the latest revision. I re-inserted a better base rom into the newest revision, so that there won't be an errors on next official beta release.

I would definitely be happy to have another beta tester.

Just sent. Have fun!

Lots of work lately on the hack. Lots of textures hacked, there is less and less original game in this. It is becoming its own game entirely.

Still lots more on the agenda.
-Music hacks
-More texture hacks
-More bonus levels
-With the help of the testers, more ideas and better gameplay overall.

one quick question when will you rellease a patch here on gbatemp for public luckwii?

Yes, there will be another soon.

Was trying to get some more levels done (I have about one or two left), and then have the GBATempers test and find bugs. Meaning it will be a release, but will give more feedback before a final release, which will be coming soon. A couple levels I am working on have a lot of programming needed that will take some time. Once finished they will be worth the wait. This hack does a lot of things the original game never allowed. I have big time into oddball things that you wouldn't suspect.

If everyone here wants the unpolished release so that it can publicly tested and there is enough demand, I will put it out there. I just don't want people to think the unpolished version is a finished version of any kind.

ok thanks for your answer take your time for beta-testing before the new patch comes out and good luck with it

One thing I can guarantee is this is an ongoing project that will not be abandoned. It will be well worth the wait. Especially now that there aren't any new DS titles coming out worth waiting for.

probably a stupid question, but any idea when 1.0 (i.e. an alpha version) would be ready? Like as in a timetable?

I doubt I'm qualified to beta test, I just feel like waiting til the game is done...

I am aiming for three months or less. There is a lot of work involved. Each level takes anywhere from 32 to 60+ hours to build, test and debug.

Getting closer to finishing the game. I have built all the levels. There are a few more rooms I need to add, and then it is on to de-bugging and final clean ups. It will still be a couple more months I think, but I want the finished product to be flawless. So, the final release is coming soon. Still looking for beta testers to help find bugs and glitches. Also need the testers to help make sure the difficulty isn't too easy or too hard. PM me if you are interested in testing.
