We'll you are talking about the difference between an overweight plumber and a graceful female bounty hunter. Even I can't hack those issues out of the game.

Getting closer to the full release.

I have hacked more power ups into the game.

Also built a few more big levels.

This hack is not only original Metroid as you will see in the final release.

At the very least try out World 1-1 in my latest revision, you will get a small taste of what is ahead.

The last build is really good. Level 1-Canon blew me away. Makes me really wish that you'll do a "New Super Metroid Bros."
wink.gif

One small suggestion: Since you changed most powerups, why not change the 1up mushroom into a Metroid energy tank?

Again great work you are doing here. I will play more and get back to you

I changed it in a new revision. I send you it. Energy tank won't work, the image shares two different colors. The mushroom is also the 1up so if I edit one, it edits the other.

You should see what I turned the end of level castle into too!

Sorry if I haven't said anything to you about the beta stuff, I've been pretty busy these pass couple of months with family and school, but I should be able to get back on to testing it.

So you know I'm Duskye/Sheaperd121

Thank you, this project will continue until finished. I promise it will be worth the sticky!

Spacejump...Any of the castles at the end of all the levels.

I see. I'll check them out.
3-1 is a very nice surprise. I love Symphony Of The Night. But I can't reach the end of this level. I found 3 "grapple vines", but all lead to nowhere.

Still a beta level. Actually this one has been very difficult. As you can imagine, the DS does not emulate PSX.

Here is a screenshot of my end of level castle. I took for ever to edit. It is a mix between the Super Metroid and the ZM save capsules.

Yes, I already saw this. It looks really great and works very well as a mix of Mario and Metroid

For which level do you need feedback now?

The overall feel of the powerups mainly.

World 8 levels we should talk about in PMs as they are not released yet. But I'd like to know what you think of them. And the new warp zones.

Or just any improvements to the gameplay in general. More coins, powerups etc., levels too or hard too long? Whatever you think will make the game play well over all.

I have been working way too much the last week so I haven't build much just this week. But after this week I will back to the full steam ahead building.

Oh and in the above image, Mario is visible in the capsule. I can also make him invisible in the capsule. I thought seeing him may be better. What do you think, visible, or not?

I think it looks more natural when Mario is visible, just like Samus.

From what I played I can say that you really should put some coins along the way and some random ?-blocks. Not all ?-blacks must have a power up.

The power ups look great! That 1up made me smile

I am going to go back through and add more coins and ? blocks with various items. I just made the new ? blocks last week so I have only changed them up in a few places.

Still hard at work on the game. I have a couple more levels I want to add, and then it is all test and fix from there.

This game is huge now. It is no longer just a side scroller.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
