WTF, this is just ONE facebook post that doesn't hint at the release of a game at all!

It's just an image macro! They post these regularly. Are you high?

Erm...yeah. What Alexrose says, basically (damnit...I'm late to this :( ).

It's one freakin' image. Of a sucky power-up*. Of a game you can already play on your wiiu (it's backward compatible with the wii, remember?). So...yeah. Stop the hype train, will you? It doesn't prove anything. In fact, I'd even say it doesn't even INDICATE anything, but I'm not familiar with nintendo's facebook page. All in all...wait for a nintendo direct. There, at least you KNOW you'll get an announcement.

*did anyone even LIKE that spring power-up? For me, the couple of levels with it mandatory took me more lives than all the boss fights combined.

I get what you all are saying. But if it's not porn, I'm not dealing with it.
You can go clean up your own mess!

Meanwhile, I'm eating peanut M&M's. How do you like that, you silly mongoose!
Bullet. Proof.

Don't get me wrong, I hope it will be a new 3D Mario game. My point was it's nothing new for Nintendo to re-release a game from the previous generation for the current generation. After all, that's probably the main reason Wii games aren't rendered in 1080p on the Wii U (they want to keep their options open).
Point taken :)

I hope they make a new 3D Mario too.

Pretty sure that picture is just a clever post from those at nintendo making a daylight savings joke...

Lol yeah, that announcement surprised me.

I just hope this wasn't Retro Studios' super secret untitled project.
Retro isn't behind the port, Monster Games are. Retro's project is confirmed to be a Wii U game.

Yeah, not hinting at a game

... but what I WANT to see is Super Mario Universe ... so I'll vote for that.

I was just thinking the other day, though, it would be cook if in Galaxy 2 the shift from the ship to the map to each level were seamless, being able to see the whole line of future levels ahead of you while standing on the ship and be on it while it flew from one to the other with Wii U's nice draw distance ... cool looking but not gonna happen.

Looks like from Galaxy series. It's either an HD remake or a new one.

It looks like the Galaxy series because it's an artwork from Super Mario Galaxy 1. It's not a sneek peek at a new game, it's a pun on daylight savings.

But there will be a "New 3D Mario Action Game" for Wii U announced at E3.

I doubt it'll be Galaxy 3 or the so-called "Super Mario Universe". The Galaxy games were brilliant, (Galaxy 2 is my second favourite Mario title behind Mario 64), but any more of the same would be beating a dead horse. Don't get me wrong, I'll certainly play Galaxy 3, but the concept of jumping planet to planet is going to get boring eventually.
That's why I hope they'll go back to the style of Mario 64 or Sunshine for Mario U. When you aren't forced to follow a path and have the freedom to explore for hours without end is where 3D Mario shines the most. With that in mind, please Nintendo, no more World Maps. I prefer an actual hub. I know people want to get from level to level as fast as possible, but you get much more out of a platformer when you get to platform outside the levels as well, it makes the world feel so much more physical and real.

Peach's Castle/Delfino Plaza/Comet Observatory > Generic World Map.
