I just installed the solderless D2Pro9 v3 chip I got from modchipcentral and the dvd drive will not work. It doesn't even spin at boot or accept a disk I'm trying to insert.

I get to the main menu and they seem to work fine just no dvd drive.

My Wii is a D2E chip and the chip is supposed to be loaded with the right firmware.

Any ideas?

I just removed the chip and wii now works fine. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, but isn't that what the clip cover is for? He mentions that you can do either. I used the cover since I didn't have the tape.

I've been going back and forth with ModChipCentral about the issue and he asked me to check for bent pins on the clip. While I don't see any on the clip, I do see one bent pin on the chipset where it would make contact with one of the pins. It's pressed inward possibly preventing the pin on the clip from touching it. Could it be a new prevention method?

I don't know how to attach a photo here to show it.

Also, when i turn the wii on with the modchip, it blinks red and blue repeatedly.

Is there a way to fix this?
