It's only 64Mb - and you could strip the '* Engine by www.MagicPockets.com' ad to end by 8327360 Bytes.

Well, I for one really like these Diablo-esque crawls. I work the graveyard shift and like a nice, low-challange game to whittle away the dull hours on the job

My only complaint: no 'run' button. I really hate having to 'crawl' in these types of games, but otherwise a quality title.

Could you give me an offset to truncate from, please?
Or anyone?

EDIT
Never mind, I took a look at the rom and it's pretty obvious.

It's 8327360 [0x007F10C0]

It seems to work still at 7.94MB.

EDIT
And I just realised that he said all that in his post

Err... well, I beat it. That was quick. It did open up a new class though, "Elven Fighter". They have a lot of magic attacks, bow use and spells, plus fairly good attack stats. Pretty much a wizard/archer combo

I was expecting more in terms of items/weapons, but it seems pretty limited in that category. Oh well, still a good game overall.

Well, it has 3 Acts total, if that counts for anything. Also I was playing on hardware, not an emu. So, it wasn't sped up from fast forward and save states. That was real gameplay time. I only reached level 22 though, so I guess more time could be put towards leveling up, or put towards leveling up the newly opened classes (that is, if any more can be opened).

Hummm... on GBA-NFO they've nuked Trashman's version for the Hyperion one...

We'll have to see if there's something wrong with Trashman's version...

pocketheaven hasn't been updated yet...

I've just started playing as an archer. Seems promising so far, I'm just entering the cellar in act 1. Controls are nice, but I'm surprised at there being no music so far.

There are some but it's more atmosphere musics than BGM. This one is a cool dungeon exploring with a story and the universe of Baldur. It turns into the Record Of Lodoss War (on DC) of the GBA, not that bad. I prefer to wait Shining Soul 2. I prefer the atmosphere of the shining series than the baldur's one.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
    +1
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
