Hi, I made this:

, and I really want to use nesDS on it.. Is there any way to change the setting to make it appear on the bottom screen?

I assume you already searched the GUI in nesDS for this setting - right?

If it isn't in there (I'm to lazy to check myself) - you could try to modify the ini-file in a text-editor.

This is what I found, when looking at the code to nesDS on SourceForge:

;If top & sub screens swap.
;?????????
ScreenSwap=0

Try and set ScreenSwap to 1 and see what happens...

It works! I just did it earlier and now I don't have to look up at the top screen no more and strain my neck. This is also a thing on GameYob, S8DS, as well as Nitrografx. I wish I knew that before I threw my old DS out as at least it could've had more life as the only thing wrong with it was the top screen but I was too upset to unscrew the damn thing off it and at least keep it for these things and at least emulate stuff off those systems.

Bad news as systems like most computers, JenesisDS, and even NeoDS don't have this so you're SOL there.

people have replied with answers and now I'm just wondering if there was a way to run two instances of something like nesds in parallel- top screen controlled with buttons, bottom screen controlled with stylus but both controlled with buttons while emulating- and basically pull the "one controller two games" thing on one ds

Not enough CPU speed for two instances of emulators, rotating screens could be (since the hardware seems to support it). At best you can use the Video Capture hardware to copy the contents of some framebuffer and display it on second screen (while first is already drawing 2D/3D) stuff with one frame delay but that's it.

But I feel the DS is more personal, or compact. So yeah

maybe 3ds then
a thing to access the processing power of the 3ds and a thing to do the double stuff

Hey guys - i'm having the same issue as OP - I have the NESDS..nds file on my R4 atm - but I can't see the INI to edit as someone above suggested....does anyone know what I'm missing? I have the INI on my desktop atm, but how does that become an .nds file or how do I get the setting to change?
