Hacking NeoGamma R8 official channel

I know that lots of people like channels, so i think it's a bad idea to not have an official channel. I plan to let GBAtemp users create channels for it and vote which becomes the official one.

Once there's a winner, there will be 3 channels made from it:
One with regular R8
One with R8 autoboot(with "3rd party" autoboot code)
And one with a combi forwarder that has regular R8 included(

I think I'll mod my current backup loader channel (as seen HERE, which is based on edselink's, which rahoul102 channels are also based on). I'll probably just add a different title, saying "Neogamma" instead of "backup loader channel" (but not "r8 final" like rahoul102's, I REALLY don't like the idea of having the rev # on the channel). And I think I may ask my cuz violator to bust out his guitar and record a custom track for it. But in terms of animation, I think edselink's work is the best perfect.

@wiipower, is there any kind of deadline I should be aware of? When do you expect to start the poll (as I wont even be home from work in a loooooooong time)

Maybe the poll starts this weekend, maybe later. A channel without the version would be better of course, think of the forwarder that will be the channel for the R9 beta testing.

R9 development has started and will concentrate on GC loading. But all i have now is that i can read one title of a game inside a multi game disc. Well i can already do that, the new part is that it's in wii mode ==> Game selection will be directly in NeoGamma.(if i get it to work...)

I will add your channel later to the 1st post, people can't vote yet anyways. Arrgh, i knew it was wrong to give out information! If i can get info the loader needs inside wii mode instead of gc mode that gets us actually nowhere near usb loading. The plan is, read all info and do all patches while still in wii mode and then pass everything to the loader that runs in GC mode. So the GUI for GC backups will be in wii mode, and the games will still be loaded from gc mode. The next one who asks me about gc usb loading will find himself on my personal ignore list!

gotcha, sorry about that, I normally would never ask about GC USB loading as I always thought u had no intentions of working on it (and that it's "impossible" without usb/sd gecko), but from what u said I had 2 ask (and if I didn't, some1 else would've).

But still, if u get this sorted, it sounds like u would eliminate the need for any other kind of GC disk loader, so that sounds great... good luck with it!!

So i have neogamma r7 with rev 14. Everything works except the Neogamma Rebooter. Everytime i do it........First it reboot with hooks....next im on the menu......when i see the game in the disc channel,I press start.......Then ''ERROR AS OCCURRED,Please REMOVE Disc and reboot''.
Soo you think i should get rev 19 to fix this problem or R8 or what? Please reply quickly

I had a go at making a NeoGamma forwarder a while ago now using sprayrosams gif wad as the base some of you might of seen it but it just kept bricking but the guys at wadder(before it disappeared) managed to get the base sussed with 95 frames and what not but never got round releasing it as a newer base.

here several concepts of what it sort of looked like(still need improving)

if i can some how get hold of the fixed base wad then i could make a new forwarder but of cause improve the animation of the current concepts show above as that was done ages ago as a lil free time project thing

They're called "Wii-like Channels". They're completely legal as far as I know (I got the sound from another wad, so I'm nut sure about that; but except the sound I can confirm that everything is legal). Right now it's only for the autoboot (tap any button for options), but I can make a channel for a non-autoboot one if this one gets chosen!

EDIT: I can also change "Loader Channel" to "NeoGamma Channel". Also, it's good to have many entries, that way when you chose the best you know you chose the best of the best and not just the best of the 3 or 4 you got!
